This is a bolt on the main door of my village's church. I took it the day after I got my very first digital camera - a Nikon Coolpix S200 - and got obsessed with taking pictures of cool textures!

I zoomed in on it in-camera (can't remember what the correct term is), but that's all the editing it had.

I've been bookbinding for almost 6 months, and finally have made something I'm 99% happy with.

These are A6 size (approx 6 x 4 1/2 inches), landscape orientation, hardback blank books/journals.

They are quarter leather bound, and covered with lined 'homespun' cotton fabric.

I've had great trouble trimming bookblocks, so I left them 'natural' - this means the foredge is stair-stepped, and the tail has got a 'deckle'. Ideally I'd like properly trimmed blocks, but... meh... it's not happening right now (any tips?).
