1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: to keep my art-tools in ;) on: October 17, 2009 03:06:40 AM
Very nice. Was it hard to sew? What kind of thread did you use? I'm getting ready to try sewing on faux leather so any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

I have a special preassurefoot on my sweingmachine that makes the leather run throug smoothly and not get stuck. Shiny, plastic fabrics doesn't slide very well with ordinary preassurefeet made of metal.
I used a polyester thread.
I've heard that you wan use potato flour on the fabric to make it slide better Smiley
Good luck!

This is adorable!  Does it close with velcro up her back?  I am imagining my jack russell in this outfit and I think she would approve!  Nicely done!  Your doggie is adorable!

Yes, it's velcro in the back, almost all the way. Only 3 inches around the tail area is sewn shut.

Very cute!  I think it looks so very 'boston', and I totally got the legs-perspective thing.  This is awesome!

Yeah. My real boston also thought it looked like a boston. She got jealous when it took over her bed. Just look at this.

Your two-colored leg idea is brilliant.  I recognized immediately what you were trying to accomplish and you did it well!  I love the optical illusion it gives.

Thanks a lot  Grin
