1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ransom Note Style Lamp on: May 08, 2008 03:31:49 PM
Yet another project I've finished involving magazine cut-out words. I really should cut back. (get it? cut back? I'm lame, I know.) I don't have a lamp shade for it yet, seeing as I randomly found it in my basement... ideas for a lamp shade would be great!

Sorry for the backwardsness, I took this picture with my webcam to show a friend.

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Magazine cut-out journal covers on: May 02, 2008 03:40:27 PM
Since I'm obsessed with decoupaging everything I can find, I figured it was only fitting to cover the covers of my doodle journal book list thingy. And besides, what else am I gonna do with a bunch of european graphics/web design magazines anyway?

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Decoupage collage plaques and wall letter! on: April 28, 2008 11:16:48 AM
Ever since I bought myself a can of mod podge, I've gone crazy with decoupaging! So far I've done six plaques (two of which are still works-in-progress), and one wall letter. I plan on doing two more wall letters for my step-siblings.

Wall plaques:

I like rainbows...!  Grin

Black and white. I'm not crazy about this one, but I absolutely had to use that paper on something.

Orangeness! I absolutely love this one. The background is light orange and yellow mulberry paper, with some orange/yellow tie-dye paper in the center.

Pink, green, and slate grey with argyle pattern. Not crazy about this one either. I wanted the background to be a bit brighter.

Wall letter:

Hmm, this one needs something. I just don't know what...
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Rainbow Junk Necklace on: April 28, 2008 11:02:40 AM
I love rainbows, I really do. So I made this necklace to match everything else rainbow in my room.  Tongue All the charms were left-over beads from other projects, stuff I swiped off of old necklaces/bracelets, safety pins with seed beads, and the chain... I have no idea where I got the chain, but it was the perfect size. This project killed my hands, I hate making loops on head pins.  Lips sealed

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Notebook bulletin board with custom thumbtacks~ on: April 25, 2008 09:50:20 AM
I don't know what gave me the idea to paint my bulletin board like a notebook, but it's awesome! My lines are sloppy cause I stink at painting thin lines, but from far away you can't tell.

I noticed after I hung everything back up that my thumbtacks were.... well, boring. So I made news ones! I took the pin parts out of my old thumbtacks (they had a plastic coating you could peel off), and glued to some buttons, and tada! Pretty thumbtacks.
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Rainbow Bookshelf and Nightstand! on: April 25, 2008 09:34:42 AM
These two pieces were the first things I painted... and now I can't stop wanting to paint everything in the house!  Undecided I got the crates for the night stand at Joanns I think... I really don't remember, I've had 'em forever. I had originally intended the bright-colored crate to be a magazine holder, but then I remembered I had two crates, so I painted the color a pastel version and bam, instant nightstand.

The bookshelf I found buried in the basement of my house, painted the ugliest green ever. I painted it white and then did all the colors. The stripes took me forever to figure out cause apparently I can't measure diagonal stripes.  Lips sealed This project probably took me the longest, I probably spent about a week painting it, and two days waiting for the sealer to dry.
