1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ransom Note Style Lamp on: May 08, 2008 03:31:49 PM
Yet another project I've finished involving magazine cut-out words. I really should cut back. (get it? cut back? I'm lame, I know.) I don't have a lamp shade for it yet, seeing as I randomly found it in my basement... ideas for a lamp shade would be great!

Sorry for the backwardsness, I took this picture with my webcam to show a friend.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Death Threat Denim Jeans on: May 07, 2008 08:03:36 PM
That has got to be the coolest demin print I've ever seen! I love the way ransom note-type stuff looks, so much so I have a giant box full of magazine cut-out letters.  Tongue If only I could turn those into pants! You did a really nice job making them. I like how you made the belt loops really long too.
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! on: May 07, 2008 07:24:00 PM
My sewing machine is pretty basic one I got for like, eighty dollars at Sears. The basicness is alright for the minimal amount of sewing I do, and the fact I'm still a sewing newbie.

That has to be the cutest table I've ever seen! The idea to cover it with buttons is absolutely brilliant.
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Magazine cut-out journal covers on: May 06, 2008 07:23:01 PM
Yes, that is a plug coming out of a bear's head.  Tongue The pictures are mirrored cause I was being lazy and took the pictures with my webcam.

Since I'm obsessed with decoupaging everything I can find, I figured it was only fitting to cover the covers of my doodle journal book list thingy. And besides, what else am I gonna do with a bunch of european graphics/web design magazines anyway?

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Rainbow Junk Necklace on: April 29, 2008 06:07:12 PM
Thanks to everyone who liked it~  Cheesy

Awesome; you should make a matching bracelet.

You know actually, this necklace started as a bracelet. But I never wear bracelets except for a select few, so I decided to make it longer so it could be a necklace.

Your binder cover is awesome! You've given me a few ideas of what to do with my massive collection of magazine scraps.
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Decoupage collage plaques and wall letter! on: April 28, 2008 08:24:45 PM
Thanks to everyone who liked my stuff~  Grin

Can you use spray-on finisher (think mod-podge in a spray paint can) to do this? I'm envious of your talent! Cheesy

I've never tried using it in spray-paint can form, but I would imagine it could work. It would probably be cleaner too, somehow I always end up covered in mod podge.  Undecided

These are awesome. I'd love these hanging in my room.
Do you mind if I do something similar?

I love the J how it is, But what about adding maybe some different sized black music notes in something 3d. Maybe polymer clay if you can't find plastic ones...?

Whee, of course you can do something similar! Just as long as you send pictures!  Grin I like your idea of putting some larger music notes on my J... looks like I need to go raid the scrapbooking store.
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Decoupage collage plaques and wall letter! on: April 28, 2008 11:16:48 AM
Ever since I bought myself a can of mod podge, I've gone crazy with decoupaging! So far I've done six plaques (two of which are still works-in-progress), and one wall letter. I plan on doing two more wall letters for my step-siblings.

Wall plaques:

I like rainbows...!  Grin

Black and white. I'm not crazy about this one, but I absolutely had to use that paper on something.

Orangeness! I absolutely love this one. The background is light orange and yellow mulberry paper, with some orange/yellow tie-dye paper in the center.

Pink, green, and slate grey with argyle pattern. Not crazy about this one either. I wanted the background to be a bit brighter.

Wall letter:

Hmm, this one needs something. I just don't know what...
