this is a 12x12 mixed media piece featuring a line from anne sexton's poetry. the background is layers of paper (scrapbook, old book pages etc), acrylic paint, rubber stamps, stencils, spray paint. i have also used gel pens, paint pens, heat embossing, and charcoal to alter the image and make it my own. it reads:
a woman like that is not afraid* to die, i have been her kind.
i am big on texture, both visual and tactile, and this has both.
feedback welcome, thanks for looking!
*the original poem by sexton used "ashamed" instead of "afraid", but essentially the same/similar meaning.
