OMG!!! I rec'd my angel package from onegroovyday!!  She totally spoiled me!  Check out the fabulous stuff:

Fabric coiled bowls - the colors of these are gorgeous!

Reusable snack bags - the fabric on these is adorable!

And a bag based on one from my wist, which is so incredibly gorgeous.  The bag is tan w/ blue corduroy trim and the lining matches perfectly.  The heart is embroidered and I am blown away by the amazing stitching.

Thank you SO much onegroovyday - you have totally made MY day.   Kiss

15  Little birdies in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by spotnik on: August 09, 2010 11:29:58 AM
I just had to share - I made this for my partner in the FOC Wist Swap.  Everything is handmade, and started out as sterling silver sheet and wire.  I even made the chain!  The entire project took about 15 hours, especially since I am new to metalsmithing.  Smiley  c/c welcome, as always.

The whole project:

(The necklace does not have a traditional clasp.  Instead, the chain hooks into the curved end of the branch.)

Closeup of the earrings:

Closeup of the chain:

Let me know what you think.  Smiley

So, since my partner has not posted pics (or even acknowledged receiving) I thought I'd post pics.

First, just let me say that this took me about 15 hours to make.  Everything is made by hand, even the chain, and the whole thing started out as sterling silver sheet and wire.  I am rather proud of the way it came out.  I've been learning all about metalsmithing and in this project I used pretty much all of the skills I've learned this semester. (oh, and Dangles & Baubles is my jewelry company, fyi Smiley )

On to the pics!

The whole project:

So, what do you think?

I am so glad you like everything, ducky Smiley

I have some pics, and I'll post those here.  Feel free to post others when your camera returns, if you want to.  Cheesy

I tried to use some sort of theme for for miss ducky's package, and since she said one of her favorite colors is purple, I tried to use that in at least some of my choices.

Long - braided cord (notice the purple Wink ):

Golden - tabby cat hat with golden spots.  This was inspired by an item on my partner's wist.  Smiley

Lumpy - poly clay beads in various shades of purple/white/black:

Less than 2" - stitch markers made of amethyst chips.  Also, because I am a dork, I made the little envelope for the stitch markers - I got a new book of card & envelope templates.  See the cute little locking mechanism?  (Yeah, I am a huge dork, I know).

L - leather deathnotes journal, the main protagonist is called "L".  no purple here; however, the deathnotes thing kind of trumped the purple.   Cheesy

Local - yarn from locally raised sheep, spun by a local spinner; and sender's choice - handpainted, repurposed chopsticks with purple dots and silver squiggles.
