1  Square wire bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by spotnik on: February 03, 2011 05:06:26 PM
This was my first time working with square wire. I eat the way the bracelet came out, but I'll tell you what - that wire is HARD! I got half hard, and nearly killed my hands. Next time, I'll get dead soft.

So, the bracelet - sterling silver square wire, hand formed into freeform waves, the carnelian beads are wired on with 26 gauge sterling silver wire as well.  Wiring onto the frame was also challenging - had to use enough to make sure the wraps didn't slide around too much, but not so much that it was clunky.

What do you think? C/C always appreciated!

2  Wire wrapping in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by spotnik on: December 11, 2010 12:01:30 PM
Hi gang!

I am so pleased with the way this wrap came out, I just had to share:

The stone is a heat-treated agate - I eat the white banding in it.  (For those who don't know, heat-treating is a permanent color enhancement, unlike dyed stones. Smiley )

I used 22 gauge sterling silver wire to wrap it - I think it would be a little better with 20 gauge, but I am still pretty happy with the end result. Cheesy

Two lollipop necklaces that Sharz made - hubs is modeling them, but is wearing his brightly colored big dog t-shirt.

It has taken me a few days to get this posted (sorry Chris!), but I finally got a few minutes free.  Here is the awesomely RAAR grr ugggh market apron ChrisSews made for me as a thank you gift.  I am SO excited to have this, as I have started doing craft shows again after about 10 years off.  I was awfully tired of trying to keep up with that cash box, so this will be great, plus the colors are exactly perfect!

Here it is!

Please forgive the mess in the background, we are still settling in from our move.   Roll Eyes

Thanks again Chris, I REALLY appreciate it.   Kiss

I received my wonderful birthday gift today from cinnamon teal - handmade notecards!  I eat them, thank you!

Check it out:

The cards with the maps are from cinnamon's original drawings; the holiday cards are gocco prints; the leaf cards were made by cinnamon's sister; and the collage cards were made by her aunt!  How cool is that?  Her family was involved in making my b-day present!

Thanks so much cinnamon teal!  (and sister and aunt!)

Yay!  I found my camera charger!  So, here are the items miss riss sent to me!

The cards are Japanese-themed and what you may not be able to see is that the images are embroidered.  How cool is that?!??

Thanks miss riss!!

I rec'd today from KnittingJo - an adorable nursery rhyme-themed bookmark.  And a chocolate from that my husband made off with as soon as I opened the envelope.

"There was a thing a full month old
When Adam was no more
Before the thing was five weeks old
Adam was four score"

The moon! Smiley

Thanks Jo!!!!!
