21  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / No idea where to start on: March 07, 2010 01:10:06 PM
Ok so I asked my friends Mom for some wool off sheep. I was given a nice bag full of wool. It's dirty and smells well like a sheep! I know that I want to try spinning with a drop spindel but I have no idea how to get it ready for that. I know I need to card it, remember that frow waaaaay back in the day helping my Gran spin but that's it. I'm assumeing that I have to clean it some how. Any help will be great!

25  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Very first try at quilting of any kind! on: February 01, 2010 08:28:54 AM
Ok, so I've never quilted a thing in my life. I like to make blankets for all the babies born into our family. However I have gotten tired of turning and top stiching the darn things. I thought I would try doing some machine quilting on one and then bind the whole thing together. So this how I did last night. I don't think I did too bad for my first try. There are a few spots where the minky has bumps and I think that next time I'll do more quilting all together. Over all I'm really pleased with it.

DH holding it up for me. Notice the sexy legs poking out from the bottem!

The mittens and hat part

Best I could do to get a nice pic of my attempt at quilting and binding it.

Mine has a few seams that are a little rough but over all I love it! I went a little crazy with the pics!

29  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Vampellyfish on: October 31, 2009 12:28:09 PM
So just in time for Halloween, I find a very strange sea creature in my back yard. Turns out that a vampire bite a jellyfish and turned it vampire. Now the intresting thing is they can come out in day light! Who ever would have thought that a jellyfish would be the start of a cure to sun damage to vampires!

30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Awarness skinny wrap or wide scarf. Which ever makes you happy :) on: October 27, 2009 09:00:37 AM
Ok so my friends mom has breast cancer. She asked me to make her two hats. After I finished those we got to talking about what could be made to help raise money for breat cancer. I found this pattern on line. Can't find the link right now but I'll find it to share. So using a GIANT ball of pink baby yarn I was gifted I set to work. After about 12 hrs this is what I have. I still need to block it and it looks like I can make at least 1 if not 2 more from the yarn that is still left. I'm just really excited with how it turned out that I had to share. Hope you all like it!
