1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Okay so I have this fabulous dress ... on: June 08, 2008 06:12:05 AM
and I mean fabulous, but my fellow fashionistas - here is my dilemma !
It is a blue dress and I have just dyed my hair purple, and it is a horrible clash ! I'm wondering if I can somehow use it to draw out a pattern ? Don't tell me to cut it up because she was such a lovely dress to me, I don't want to harm her !

Also, it's got veeery interesting elasticy smocking on the back and i'm not quite sure how to replicate this as i'm still not highly skilled !

2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / New & needing help ! on: April 20, 2008 01:21:29 AM
Well, I may have lost a very close relative  Sad, but in the process I've gained her sewing machine Lips sealed. She owned her own dress shop when she was younger and I know she'd love me to use it and make gorgeous things like she used to make me ! But, slight problem. I don't know what to do, I am completely useless ! I can knit and I do remember once making a (slightly disfigured) teddy bear, but apart from, I have no experience !

Has anyone got any ideas for something simple and pretty I can make? I'm hoping to have made myself a lovely dress by the time we're blessed with nice weather, which (seeing as I live in England) could be a longggg wait !

Any help much appreciated !
Lots of love chickens ! xoxox  Kiss
