I finished one of my UFOs today. It's a magnetic 'to do' list. I printed out a list of the chores I need to do daily/weekly onto magnet-backed-paper, then used my rotary cutter and quilting ruler to cut nice, straight lines. The strips of blue are just the leftover edges of the magnetic sheet colored with a sharpie. Organizational refrigerator poetry.  Wink

I also did some more decluttering of my craft room. I sorted through my desk drawer filled with all of my tools and got the junk out of it. My box of ribbon got emptied... most of it was inherited from a friend and in bad condition, so I pitched it. The few spools that were new got added to the donate pile because I have no immediate use for them.

I love the curtains! They're so cheerful. Nice stitching, Kookaloo_Starr and Vampedangel14!

The box of paints was weeded through with my last project, thankfully. The recycling was clean-up from holiday crafting and, weirdly, breast milk storage bottles (I had scores of these since my DS was a NICU kid) I was saving for... something crafty.  Huh Yeah... I just thought of something else that needs to be recycled today.

Oh, no, CLM! That's awful. IME, most people are really understanding about that, though. We almost all have days where our houses are just not presentable. I say almost because I know some real neat freaks whose homes look curated 24/7.  Tongue

While my DS finished lunch, I cleared a big box of never-used specialty dishes out of my curio cabinet. After lunch, he emptied my box of painting supplies onto the floor (no mess as he didn't open anything) while I cleared two boxes of books off of my shelves and bagged up two grocery bags full of paper and plastic for recycling, and another small bag of trash.  Cheesy Feels so good!

I'm in, too! My craft room has become the storage room for all the things that my toddler can't play with for safety reasons...it's a disaster.

I have a lot of WIPs floating around that need to be completed before I start anything new. I also have a lot of supplies that I bought with a project in mind, then never got started on. Between finishing WIPs and completing the other planned projects, I figure I can keep myself pretty busy this year.

Our family is also working towards minimizing the number of things cluttering up our closets and house. Since a lot of my planned projects were clothes (nothing fits after the baby), hopefully I can pare down my wardrobe into a few essential garments that I love to wear and clear out the pieces that I don't, all while using up my stash.

So, three goals for me:
1. No starting something new before my WIP list is cleared.
2. No buying supplies until all the planned projects are done (unless I need something small to finish it).
3. Give away the excess stuff (supplies, finished items, duplicates, etc.).

I'm really looking forward to this journey with all you lovely people!  Kiss Happy New Year!
25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need id help for the stones on this bracelet, please... on: December 30, 2013 10:49:03 AM
I agree that it looks like amber set in silver. IME, glass stones are usually set in base metals or silver plate. That's not a cheap bracelet.

I always seem to miss the book swaps, and I'm determined not to miss this one. Count me in.  Grin
27  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: Polymer clay and Fabrics, such as Leather on: November 25, 2013 09:54:40 AM
I also second the no-leather-in-the-oven advice. It'll likely end up dry and cracked from the dry heat. Could you maybe rivet or stitch the polymer clay pieces to the leather instead of gluing? I've personally never had any luck with leather and glue - that could just be me, though.   Tongue Wink

Yesterday, I received my awesome thank-you gifts from bookstorebabe! She made me this spectacular journal with leaves on the cover (I looove journals!). It's painted in my favorite colors, too. She also made me this great sun medallion necklace with a blue background.

Thank you, bookstorebabe, for a wonderful swap! Cheesy
