1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pregnant, New Baby & Toddler Swap round 2 on: December 22, 2012 09:13:23 AM
Yesterday for the apocalypse the power in our part of town went out! Yay! Ha ha. Happily the suck from not having internet or a way to cook was alleviated by receiving my FANTASTIC package from dreadlady! I've been seriously spoiled. <3 <3 Thank you so much, I'm so in love with everything. We move in 2 weeks so I'm itching to get these goodies up in our Dr. Who themed nursery. Smiley

She sent a painted plaque of the TARDIS. It was a terribly overcast day and with no power I didn't have the best lighting so you can't see the glittery background very well.

Matching the background, she also painted a set of hanging picture frames. I'm going to use a TARDIS blue ribbon to hang it up, and I've already found and cut pictures of my brother and sisters to fill it with. My siblings all live across the country and I was wanting to put pictures of them up in the nursery for the babe to see. This is so perfect!

Check out the detail on the colorwork! It's really beautiful and reminds me of deep space imagery of galaxies.

She printed out a Dr. Who/Dr. Seuss mashup and put it in a frame that's painted a metallic blue. This really touched me, especially because a while back my husband and I came across a story about a dad who bought Oh the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss when his daughter was starting kindergarten and had her teachers every year write a message to her in the cover from K-12th grade. It made us tear up and we want to do that as well. Perfect picture is perfect. Cheesy

And then there was this pair of tiny felt moccasins! They're so beautiful, I can't even get over it. I keep picking them up and squealing happily over them, ha ha.

I feel so completely spoiled and amazed with dreadlady's incredible package. Thank you so much!

Using this weekend to put the details on my last item, and then tomorrow I need to trek down the street for a sweet little extra for dreadlady! Cheesy I had so much fun crafting for your little boy!

Also, we had a very exciting day yesterday. I had my anatomy scan and we found out that our incoming little one is a girl! Smiley To celebrate we went out and bought the first cloth diaper cover for her, a cute robot design! Ha ha. And now I've been freaking out over how tiny the newborn diaper covers are. @_@ So cute!

While I was taking out the trash, I left my bedroom door open (doh!) and my roomie's dog got in and drug off the large I was working on to eat. D: It's completely FUBAR, so I'm trying to decide if I have time to re-start it or if I should choose something else. No bueno. :<

I received from lorelei today! She chose to do a hoop based on the 1960s British TV show The Prisoner, which the mister and I watch all the time. Mr. Drowning is unabashedly in love with Patrick McGoohan and the "Be Seeing You" line is one we say all the time. <3 I really can't get enough of the hoop and the perfect 60s flair! Smiley

What a fantastic round! I can't wait for the next one. My hoop wall is coming along well, but look at how much more space I have to fill!
