I got my hoop from Faux_Valentine and it's awesome! She was inspired by an image on my wists and I'm totally digging the cross hatch shading she used.

I really love his horns. Thank you again Faux_Valentine!

Today after work I didn't feel all that great, but I took a nap and woke up to an AMAZING hoop! I LOVE my pet rats. They're my babies, and fiorinda did a portrait for me! My camera is out of commission for now so I hope fiorinda will put up better pics, but I took pictures with my Nintendo DS, with my lovely Christine to show the likeness. <3

Thank you sooo much fiorinda! I teared up when I saw the hoop, it's just so perfect. Also, how adorable is the card you sent with it? I love that paper.

Who else is completely ready for the next round? I've got two fabulous hoops on the wall and can't wait to see moooore! Cheesy

I love the French knots as the light in the eyes!

I received today from bexieboo and the hoop is absolutely perfect! <3 <3 <3

The back was finished so neatly!

And now my hoopla wall has begun!

Thank you so much bexieboo, I'm absolutely in love with it! The blue fabric you used matches my sheets, ha ha. Smiley I'm also pretty embarrassed about the back of mine, it doesn't look nearly as good as yours, and I hope that yours gets to you on Monday!

26  Re: The Swap Your Crafts Could Smell Like Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Songs4Drowning on: September 22, 2010 11:21:14 AM
I've received from cxcaitlyn and it's AMAZING!

First, I found this great bag. She appliqued an ocean scene with the S.S. Mustafa on it, and it's lined with super fun fabric.

Then, folded up inside of the bag was the most amazing shower curtain I've ever seen.

Isaiah Mustafa greets us as we walk up the stairs, and my boyfriend takes a giddy pleasure in showering, quoting the commercials.

I am now realizing that I completely forgot to take a picture of the extra that she sent! It was a seriously adorable card holder, which I'm using to hold onto my doctor's appointment cards.

Thank you so much Caitlyn! The package was freaking amazing, and I enjoy shower time SO MUCH MORE now. Hee hee hee. Cheesy

Hello Craftsters, look at your organizer. Now back to Isaiah. Now back to me. Now back to Isaiah. Sadly, I'm not Isaiah. This swap is 4 points, but feel free to communicate with your partner if you wish to craft more for them! Crafting time is 4 weeks.

You can find all of the videos on Youtube, and the above illustration was done by ShouriMajo on deviantart.

28  Isaiah Mustafa/Old Spice Guy swap: The Crafts your Crafts Could Smell Like in New Swap Theme Ideas by Songs4Drowning on: July 19, 2010 04:41:20 PM
As the Old Spice Guy's goodbye came and brought me great sorrow, I feel that it is time for Craftsters to rise up and swap in the name of a ridiculously handsome man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFDqvKtPgZo

I'm pretty sure there's a lot of things that we can craft from the commercials and youtube responses that Isaiah Mustafa has gloriously gifted the world with. I'm aiming for a small swap (4 points) with a month of crafting time, beginning near the end of the month. It should keep things to where those of us who have school starting up in the fall won't be under too much pressure.

What do you guys think? Anyone interested?

29  Busy weekend! (pic heavy) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Songs4Drowning on: May 18, 2010 09:11:12 PM
This weekend, I went on a crafting spree. I made cold process soap cupcakes: I used a tutorial on the Soap Queen's blog, with my own recipe. Once I'd poured the soap (at a medium-thick trace) into the muffin mold, I colored the rest of it, and continued to blend and stir until it REALLY thickened up. Then I used a ziplock bag and pastry tip to pipe the "frosting". I added cosmetic glitter and some bath salt that I dyed with sweet almond oil and ultramarine violet to look like sprinkles. They've been sitting in the molds for three days to make sure that the bottoms were completely hardened and wouldn't mush.

My favorite cupcake. I think the top is adorable!

Here's some wasabi scented cold process beer bars that are finally ready to use! I sprinkled bath salt on the top, and used Sapporo beer for the liquid. Let me tell you, when the lye hit the beer, it was the nastiest smell ever. I almost died like three times making this soap. I am very happy to say that today it just smells like wasabi. Smiley Colored with chrome green oxide.

Heart shaped bath fizz with sprinkles and sparkle gold mica. These bad boys are six ounces. They kind of terrify me.

Bubble bath slices. They smell like evergreen and I luff them so much. I kind of suck at getting the swirl in them, they like to crumble while I roll them up. I'm thinking the next time I make them, I'm going to use my onigiri presses to see if I can get some awesome shapes.

30  Metal Gear Cross-stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by Songs4Drowning on: May 07, 2010 12:35:32 PM
A really great friend of mine is moving from Virginia to California in about a week. I wanted to give her a very special gift, as she's been there for me so much, and I love her to death. She was one of two friends who came to see me when I was stuck in the hospital for a week and a half last year, and I'm going to miss her like crazy. We both are crazy in love with the Metal Gear series, and she has a pretty big crush on Snake. I used half stitches to make the project go faster, and it ended up lending itself so wonderfully to the art style of the series. It's just over 2200 stitches, and the image is from Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. The quote is from the first Metal Gear Solid. Otacon asks Snake this, and Snake answers that he does, that people can fall in love anywhere. Since she's moving across the country to be with the man she loves, I thought it was only fitting.

Also, because I think she's absolutely beautiful and I love this picture that I took of her: the lovely recipient of this little piece:
