I received from plaidpineapple and it is amazing! I had asked for a cup cozy since I always have cold drinks with me at my desk and my fingers get so chilly! She made me an amazingly adorable cozy with my main's name, the pally hammer.

There is a velcro closure for smaller bottles or cans of soda

For my reusable water bottle (which really chills my fingers!), plaidpineapple added an elastic loop with a hand-made button! :0 So cool

And what's this? My favorite WoW creature, a murloc! Cheesy

I received from Britters last week and I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get pictures! D: She made my boyfriend two rockin' stenciled wallets. It was hilarious to see him debate which one to use, but he ultimately went with the red one. He immediately transferred everything over and has been showing it off EVERYWHERE we go.

I didn't get a picture of the inside of the blue one somehow, but it says "MUMMY" really big accross the panels inside. My boyfriend ADORES the wallets and the look on his face when I tossed him the box and said, "Hey, you got a package. Did you order something?" was priceless. Cheesy Thank you so much Britters for being an AMAZING partner for my boyfriend (and me)!

I received yesterday from urka, and I almost exploded when I saw them. Cheesy She said as soon as she saw my likes she thought of Jose Pulido's art. Thank you, urka, for these gorgeous pieces and also introducing me to a great artist!

My favorite robot friends, C-3PO and R2D2. <3

My favorite part of 3Po is his face. I can just imagine him sighing over R2.

Urka said she learned lazy daisy and french knots just for this project and I think she did an amazing job! I can't get over R2's little flowers.

Thank you so much, urka!

15  Deathwing from World of Warcraft in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Songs4Drowning on: March 09, 2011 02:15:33 AM
In the World of Warcraft swap, I made aliceownsj00 an amigurumi Deathwing! I bought a simple dragon pattern from ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/amigurumi-baby-dragon and made the head, body, legs and wings from the directions. I used Lion Brand Homespun together with regular Red Heart acrylic (Homespun is a pain to start a round with on it's own!) and upped the gauge of my hook. In return, the dragon ended up being around 27" long from tip of nose to tip of tail! The wings are also homespun and acrylic, for the eyes, I wanted the orange to be bright so I did a layer of Sugar and Cream cotton under/around them, and the armored plates for the jaw and on the body are two strands of Vanna's Choice Glamor and one of Vanna's Choice together. In the right light, the glamor is metallic! The orange is supposed to be "seams" where the inside fire of the dragon can be seen from where he was thrown into the earth after being defeated. A cult is using armor to hammer him back together, so yeah.

I am most proud of his jaw. I completely freehanded the shape of it, including the teeth, telling my boyfriend as I worked on it, "I have no idea what I'm doing!" I think the metal "rivets" really make it. My two reference pictures that I used while making this guy up were: http://www.flinthammer.org/ringo/screenshots/2010-11-23-02.jpg and http://arewenewatthis.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/deathwing-in-stormwind.jpg

It was soo hard to let this guy go, but I hope alice adores him!

I received today from aliceownsj00 and I really love everything. It definitely brightened up my day! Cheesy

The boyfriend-man insisted that he be the one to open the package, ha ha.

The first item we unwrapped (from the seriously swanky wrapping paper!) was a painted plaque proclaiming my mastery of archaeology. Cheesy

An adorable wind rider cub embroidery, in hoop. I've been in all the hoopla swaps so far, so I'm building up a hooped embroidery wall and now my cubby has a place of honor among the other pieces I've gotten.

A personalized tote! I luff totes. I use them all the time. Check out that skull button. Hee hee, totally rocks.

The neckbearded boyfriend-man modeling one of the tee shirts that alice painted!

This is the shirt that I'm wearing now. It looks like my Impire's silhouette!

I am also wearing this! alice says that blacksmithing isn't her bag, but I'm so in love with this bracelet! I keep running my fingers across it and watching the rings ripple! it also happens to be the most comfortable bracelet I've ever worn.

I didn't get a pic of it, but the letter she wrote was burned and rolled like parchment. Seriously cool! Thank you so much for being an awesome partner, aliceownsj00! Cheesy

Yay SQUIRREL!

Hee hee, I have been happily crafting away over here, in between essays for my new classes.

Do you ever feel like something is watching you while you craft? Huh. Must just be me.  Wink

lol No need to panic, ladies. We have a month of crafting time. Cheesy

Today one of my guildies and I ran through Utgarde Pinnacle and now I am not just Impire, but Elder Impire! Woot! Killing Skadi also got me to Exalted with Orgrimmar and I got the Filling Up the Barn achieve with wolfies.

And a teaser for my partner... my offering of PF Changs has been well received and the crafting god has showered many blessings upon my house.

20  For the Horde! - first glass project in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Songs4Drowning on: January 16, 2011 02:02:22 AM

Ever since I bought a gorgeous fused glass pendant off of etsy, I've been telling my boyfriend that I want to do glass fusing and get a kiln because I think the craft is so beautiful and well....great! And he has suggested that perhaps I try the craft to see if it's something that I would want to do all the time and actually like to do before we drop our tax returns on a very expensive and very large crafting tool such as a kiln. Cheesy I think that's a pretty good point. So we found a local place that does painting of pre-made ceramics that also happens to teach and have space for glass fusing and throwing pottery with wet clay. Sweet, right? The best part is there is no studio fee if you're doing glass, you jut pay for the base piece of glass that you're building your design on and then pay a fee for the second run through the kiln if you want your piece slumped. So the other day we picked up the very first glass piece I've done! I didn't want to glue a bail to the back for hanging on the wall, because I was really scared of it falling off the wall and shattering. So we bought a frame in horde colors at Target, I chose a nice background from my scrapbooking stash and I glued the piece onto the glass frame. Now it has a place of honor at my desk so I can show my pride while I game! Cheesy

I used a sharpie to draw the horde symbol on the glass, then outlined it with white frit. Then I filled it in, loose mosaic style with pieces of opaque red glass and then cut opaque white out to draw on with the little enamel stuff that the name escapes me now.
