1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / a couple new things. on: January 25, 2009 08:35:38 PM
Just a few pages I did this month... I've been having trouble scrapping lately, just don't have the mojo!
Which, funnily enough, both of these are for my design team work with Scrapmojo, lol:
http://scrapmojo.blogspot.com/

I'm also working on this team diptych project, inspired by Art Slam:
http://www.art-slam.com/2008/12/teamdiptych/
with my friend Shaina. It's been really fun so far. We have a word for each day, for 30 days and can do whatever project we want for it. She's doing hers all on scrapblog, but I have been trying to mix it up (I get bored easy! ha.)
Here are the first four days:

Day One - Love

(larger here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_johnston/3207522425/sizes/l/)

Day Two - Serious

(larger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_johnston/3208370660/sizes/l/in/photostream/)

Day Three - Accept

(larger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_johnston/3208370726/sizes/l/in/photostream/)

Day Four - Dedicate

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Dangly Stick Stars on: January 25, 2009 08:16:46 PM
For the latest prompt at The Art Is Found: http://theartisfound.blogspot.com/, we had to make mobiles (lately, it seems like all the creating I've been able to do is for my design teams, but better than none!)....
I've been wanting to make these stick stars that I saw on A Foot Hill Home Companion: http://foothillhomecompanion.blogspot.com/2007/11/star-light-star-bright.html for awhile now so I whipped these up:

here's a close up of each star since they have their own little personalities:

you can see them larger here:

and here:

It was just a lot of tying and knotting. I loved adding in the bits of thread and beads here and there.
I really love how they turned out.... I'm excited to properly hang them after my husband and I get our own place!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / shapeing? flattening? or something? on: December 16, 2008 11:15:12 AM
I've been making some neck warmers lately, that button up the front.
I'm having a little problem with the ends curling up on me. I was wondering if there was a way to shape them so they lay flat?
I was wondering about ironing or wetting them a bit and letting them dry flat... something?

this is probably such a simple problem, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere about it and I don't want to mess up what I've already made!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Into the Woods neckwarmer on: December 16, 2008 10:50:20 AM
I'm on the design team for a lovely challenge/inspiration blog called The Art Is Found:

http://theartisfound.blogspot.com/

the prompt was "woods" so I made a little woodsy themed neck warmer:

Use some Martha Stewart woodgrain ribbon I've had for ages! Just something fun.
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / three latest pages... on: December 08, 2008 04:44:41 PM
Here's some pages I did last week....

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crunchy Leaves Neckwarmer on: December 08, 2008 01:17:17 PM
Playing around with different yarns and textures to make this neckwarmer:

pinned up to show the single button, it folds over on itself though so it's normally hidden.

my husband said was very "autumn" looking so I named it after crunchy leaves, but that was just to name it and organize the photos, I really hate naming things.... feels so lame, ha! It was just going to be browns and reds but I usually like to add a pop of color to things so orange it was!
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / make mistakes on: December 05, 2008 09:55:21 AM
hey everyone, I'm not really new to craftster, just a long time lurker, once in awhile poster.
I lost my account info and didn't realize it when I checked in a few months back, so I'm under a new name.
I haven't posted anything in ages...

(you can see it in different sizes here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_johnston/3083403489/)

this is for the challenge blog The Art Is Found: http://theartisfound.blogspot.com/
