1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / vintage fabric baby shirt on: May 22, 2009 07:20:13 AM

I love how this came out.  Saw a shirt at Old Navy for more than I could afford and figured it couldn't be too hard to make...my shirt is not the same but similar concept, and I used the photo here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=250146.0 to help me.  So, thank you!

The fabric is what "makes" this little top  Smiley
it was in my mom's scrap box and I have loved it my whole life...must be at least 40 years old by now.  There was never enough for a big project, but just enough for a little baby!
looks MUCH cuter with her fluffy dipes but we were traveling so I only had sposies to put on her :-)
thank you for looking  Smiley

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Polly Pal on: October 10, 2008 02:36:37 PM
My mom made me Polly Pal when I was little. I still have the pattern, which is from 1974. I made this doll for my niece who is turning 2 this weekend.
Does anyone else remember Polly Pal?

original pattern

Polly is made of flannel with yarn hair and embroidered face.

in her unmentionables...

A little embroidery on her apron (white was a bad choice of color, it's almost invisible)

my niece does not have ANY dolls - imagine that!!! so I hope she likes Polly.

so nice and very smart of you! I have an ugly vinyl diaper bag that is so useful and perfectly sized but SOOOOO unattractive...have been wanting to make one but am a huge chicken about zippers. I think you did a great job!

I love the fabric. I was never a huge fan of the Vera Bradley bags until recently. I don't know if she changed her fabrics of if my taste changed...anyway I love those bright colorful flowers!  Beautiful job!
