I am SO happy with how the sunbonnet came out! I think it's even cuter than on the pattern photo (B4820)
It was very easy to make; took me less than half a day. turning the ties was a pain until I got smart and used a safety pin and thread to help me turn them (duh)
the dress is McCall's 3191. I've made this a few times before for gifts. I had forgotten the fact that turning the fully lined dress is A PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!! It turns thru the shoulder seam- if you use delicate fabrics they will stretch out of shape or tear; if you use thicker fabrics it's almost impossible to turn. My recommendation is to leave the neckline or bottom seam open and handsew it closed after turning. If only I can remember to do this next time it will save some headaches.
This dress can be made to be fully reversible and I think it's ADORABLE on! It's open in the back and ties with a big bow...I think the pattern has the ties too short - next time I will make them longer for a nice fat bow.
as you can see, the front of the dress is very plain so you can have fun dressing it up!
I can't wait to see my friend's new little baby girl wearing this outfit...:-)
