21  Captain Underpants in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by crafty-in-tally on: January 12, 2011 08:04:09 PM
My nephew is obsessed with the comic Captain Underpants. He even has two sketchbooks filled with his own sketches of CU on different adventures. He once had one of his teddy bears wearing one of his old underpants and flying it. So I decided he needed his own CU. He was so excited. He even slept with it for a couple of days.

I used Red Heart yarn for the project and filled it with polyester fiberfill.

My nieces asked me to make them one. This is what I came up with. He's still missing some arms. I didn't think to crochet his clothes as well. I'm definitely going to make one using your tutorial. Your's is much cuter.

25  Home Depot Box and Duct Tape (mmm) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by crafty-in-tally on: July 08, 2010 08:57:39 PM
My son just loves to help me wash clothes. He's 5 now hopefully he feels the same way in a few years to do his own laundry. So I decided to make him his own washing machine out of two moving boxes from Home Depot, a roll of duct tape, kraft paper and a bit of electrical tape to highlight. Here are the pics. I didn't take pictures after I cut out some openings on the sides for him to carry it from room to room.

Before the cover up

After the cover up

I'm brainstorming what to do with the boxes I still have leftover from my move.

Here's the package I received from YumJello today. I was like leave me alone for a few minutes to soak this all in.

The whole lot:

sample pieces of fabric, suede and leather, a bagful of buttons and a fabric glue stick (did not know this existed)

closeup of fabric - love the colors

Received a package from Minathia. Just awesome.

A few pieces of fabric - chickens, paisley, dots

There was 2" worth of circles both paper and fabric. My nieces are looking through the bunch to decorate their school notebooks.

30  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box R2 Signups CLOSED Send 6/30 in The Swap Gallery by crafty-in-tally on: June 24, 2010 02:19:41 PM
Received my package from vikingmom today.

Received several fat quarters, great for the iPod cases I make. A couple of old zippers, couldn't believe they were only 75 cents way back in the day (1978, I was 9 yrs old then). Bias tapes, other fabric (my mom grabbed the shiny green fabric as I was taking it out of the package) Grin. Some fusible interfacing and machine sewing needles (which I was going this weekend to buy, woohoo)

My favorite item was the hand painted frame with the Bible verse from my signature. That was so thoughtful. I have the perfect picture for it of my late husband (3 1/2 years ago).

Thanks vikingmom and the coordinators.
