3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Alice In Wonderland skirt on: May 12, 2013 02:44:59 AM
Haven't made anything in a while due to losing some of my vision, but after many many medical treatments, while vision won't be perfect again, can see well enough to sew! First item of clothing I've made since 2010.
Was given this Alice In Wonderland fabric from a friend for my birthday. She bought it in Japan. She also gave me Snow White fabric, and I chose to make a mini circle skirt with it.

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / The Living End on: December 18, 2012 07:52:27 PM
Long time no post. I used to make lots of cross stitch projects of bands and get them autographed. Have also had bands ask me to make ones for them, but unfortunetly in 2010 I was diagnosed with an eye disease that can cause blindness, lost alot of my vision, and now after a lot of treatmeant have some vision back. I started making one of the band The Living End in 09, then had to stop when eye disease kicked in.
They're my favourite band and they just did a tour around Australia, where they played each of their albums over 7 nights, in each capital city. It gave me the urge to finish the project, and I actually finished stitching it sitting outside the backstage door. Was invited backstage to get it autographed and hang out with the guys.

This is the original drawing, it was from their 2003 street team tees.

This is another The Living End stitching I made in 06.

Update, they loved them, here's Chris using his Mario one, and yes, that arm you can see is covered in a Street Fighter tattoo.!

Sooo my Nintendo obsessed twin brothers birthday is coming up (Put it this way, they are covered in Nintendo tattoos) and they live off barbecues, so what better present then bbq aprons that look like the Super Mario Brothers overalls!

Modelled by co creator and friend Terry. Next project is a WaLuigi one for him, sadly the craft store didn't have the right shade purple to make one this time round.

Thanks for looking Smiley Off to play mario kart......

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / The Beatles mod mini skirt on: February 27, 2009 07:29:50 PM
Got very excited when found all kinds of The Beatles print fabrics at Spotlight, and made this using a burda young pattern.

It needs ironing which is why its a bit puffed out on one side.
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Motion City Soundtrack - It Had To Be You cross stitch. MET THE BAND!! on: February 21, 2009 08:18:15 PM
Met them last night. Walked backstage, and Matt came running up saying "WHERE IS IT WHERE IS IT SHOW!!!"

Original post..
Several years ago i made a cross stitch of a cartoon drawing of the band Motion City Soundtrack to get autographed, after seeing it, the singer Justin asked me to make one of the anime show Cowboy Bebop for him, and after the bassist Matt saw that, he asked me to make this for him, it's a screen shot from their video clip It Had To Be You, and has taken just over a year to make. Has over 60000 stitches!

I'll post the other ones i mentioned if anyone wants to see. I'm very much looking forward to Matts reaction when i give it to him!

Well i got 2 emails from Matt today. First one: "Holy crap! I can't believe you did it! 472 hours?! That's unbelieveable. Seriously. It's perfect. It looks like a photo." And 2nd "I blogged about it. Check our site!" so i looked at there site and found this: "asked our friend Jessii in Australia last year if she could do a cross stitch of the It Had To Be You characters. She said yes. Little did I know it would take 472 hours and over 40,000 stitches. Well, here it is. Pretty amazing work.."
