I heard a tip today that you could add a little water to solvy (water soluble stabilizer) creating a paste that you paint on chiffon to temporarily stiffen it while you sew with it and then melt it away when you're done!

I thought this was a great idea... it seems like there should be some sort of temporary stiffening spray, do you think starch would work? Has anyone tried this? This would make sewing with slippery fabrics so much easier!

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i made this guy for my boyfriend because he needed a lucky shirt. its made out of organic cotton with double piping and lots of love... so its pretty lucky. the owls are from a sublime stitching pattern... and i don't know if you can tell but some of the embroidery thread is metallic, which i thought was kinda nifty. anywho, hope you like it.

it only took about 45 minutes and a third of a yard... i loove it. i'm very pleased.  the fabric 
the bikini...   ignore the lining popping out.. like i said it was a quick project.
