1  Re: Angel Boy stencil t-shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by carlyb on: January 11, 2005 09:32:14 PM
Ooops. Here's the picture. I haven't posted any pictures in a while and apparently forgot that you have to actually include the picture Tongue

2  Tube top from a curtain and some tulle in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by carlyb on: November 28, 2004 10:11:57 AM
I bought these curtains at a second hand store down the street from my house for ridiculously cheap, something like $3.  I loved the material so much.  I just made this top the other night, I'm going to make a matching purse too, eventually.  I can only wear it with a jacket over it though, because the back is really crappy.  Ah well, maybe I'll figure out how to fix it someday.

3  Re: A Guitar Stencil in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by carlyb on: November 13, 2004 11:21:47 AM
If you go to www.fender.com there are a bunch of pictures.  I tried one out to make sure it would work, and this is what I came up with:

This is the exact guitar that I have Smiley which is why I picked it, but there's loads more.

4  Sarah Jessica Parker in Stenciling: Completed Projects by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:23:42 PM
Ok I made this shirt in the summer, when I was using a crappy method of cardboard stencils and spray paint.  But I still like the shirt.  The wind carried the spray paint outside of the stencil border, but I tell myself that I like the effect Tongue

5  Legwarmers! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:16:00 PM
At first I thought I would hate the day when the 80s came back in style.  I love 80s pop culture, but I just couldn't see how the fashion could ever seem appealing to me again.  But I was wrong wrong wrong! I made these by cutting the sleeves off of an old sweater, hemming the bottom and attaching a felt flower I made.

6  1 boring dress + 1 mumu=1 Fun dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:13:29 PM
This was originally a mumu and a plain black sleeveless dress that I got at Value Village.  Nothing I buy there ever stays the way it was when I bought it Smiley It's hard to tell in the picture but the sides are ruched.

7  T-Shirt surgery-New sleeves, ruching etc. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:10:39 PM
Here are a couple of t-shirt surgeries I did.  Both were very large men's shirt in their original form.

Yay! This picture posting thing isn't as hard as I thought it would be!

8  Stenciled Shirt using skibum's tutorial in Stenciling: Completed Projects by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:06:34 PM
After reading skibum's tutorial I made this shirt.  Works much better than my old method of cardboard stencils and spray paint:) My friend has a store-bought shirt like this and I decided I had to make one for another friend of mine who has a personal vendetta against emo.

9  Re: obnoxiously simple fingerless gloves in Knitting: Completed Projects by carlyb on: November 12, 2004 08:02:50 PM
I loved these so much I had to make some.  They were a good project for getting back into knitting after being away from it for a couple of years.  Thanks for the inspiration!
