1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with a sweater? on: October 30, 2008 06:16:51 PM
I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times, buuutt...

I'm fairly new at knitting, I just taught myself recently after years of crocheting.  Anyway, I came apon a pair of circular needles in my mother's stash and decided to experiment. I now have a really nice looking tube that would fit me perfectly as a sweater, but I have no idea how to go about shaping the neck and making sleeves  Huh

I've tried looking at other sweater patterns to get an idea of what to do, but I just get all baffled and frustrated. I dont want to do anything extravagant with it, just like....maybe a v-neck or a scoop neck? I'd love to put on a hood, too, but I know thats a little out of my league Cheesy

Any help at all would be so so so sooo appreciated!
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Brick of beeswax? on: July 29, 2008 08:44:35 PM
I found a 1lb brick of white beeswax lying around...I would hate to throw it away.

I know you can make lip balms and candles, but are there any other good uses for it?

thanks!  Cheesy

This would be the perfect project for some spare alpaca blend yarn I have and couldn't figure out what to do with!!! Pardon my run-on sentance, and what an awesome idea! I'm stealing this, pronto  Grin
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Beauty and the Beast Jeans on: May 10, 2008 04:49:09 PM
Wow. I really dont know what else to say, but I had to tell you anyway! WOW! These are incredible, and you've inspired me to create a pair myself (with a different theme, of course....I'm no thief  Tongue).

Great job!!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: i've been busy! (image heavy!) on: April 21, 2008 08:17:56 PM
The bath poufs are so cute! Do you know, do they actually work well in the shower? I hate buying the plastic-y kind because they wear out so quick, and these look like theyd be nice...you could probably through them in the laundry, too!!

Also....pattern? Maybe?

I love making these. When I first learned how, I couldn't stop...I would be like sitting at McDonalds making them from straw wrappers.

...I wish I was kidding. lol. These are really adorable. I love things in tiny bottles Cheesy
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Got books? How about a nice Book Bookshelf? on: April 16, 2008 06:46:07 PM
Wow, I was literally JUST looking at my bookshelf (full of old, useless books) and was thinking of making like a cubby hole type display shelf for the wall.

This is beautiful, and much better than what I had brewing in my head. I may have to steal your idea!!
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Make up holder (image Heavy on: April 16, 2008 06:39:12 PM
I had to laugh when I saw this because that's EXACTLY how the top of my toilet looks. Seriously, I have a plastic cup to hold all my makeup brushes and mascara and other longish items, too. I used to have it all in a really cute wine glass, but someone knocked it off and it shattered  Cry

This is a wonderful idea, and so simple, too! Well done!
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: More Amigurumi--Indiana Jones! (sooo pic heavy) on: April 15, 2008 10:55:57 AM

Those colors look really great together, and I love the checkerboard-esque middle!
