3  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Quilt Project on: May 17, 2008 03:07:26 PM

Hey there,

I am planning on starting a quilt project with the women incarcerated at the local prison where I volunteer to give them skills to take with them once they are released. All my work up to this point has been on clothing, knitting and other small gifts. If anybody has any ideas on how to get such a big community project like this going or any idea on quilting, I would love for you to share those ideas with me.

5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / DIY Shampoo with no sulfates on: April 19, 2008 01:51:23 PM
  Hey guys,
I made my first batch of shampoo today and wondered if many other people are doing this?
I used a base and then added dried flowers, essential oils that are particularly good for my hair colour. Its an all natural alternative that doesn't leave nasty sulfates in your hair!

Does anyone know how to make a shampoo base from basic ingredients?

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My First creation and other ramblings. on: April 11, 2008 02:44:50 PM
  Hey fellow crafters,

I am new to this site and sewing in general, I was sick of hunting for far too long for  clothes in Thrift stores, don't get me wrong I still like do that but there is a special feeling that comes with knowing that you can make your own clothes and other creations. Just wanted to post a link to the dress that I made last summer. Let me know what you think.

 thanks for your time
