1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Practice makes (almost) Perfect -ribbon & regular embroidery on felt on: April 22, 2008 09:44:17 PM
I've posted the 5 other stockings I've made for my family, but this is my "piece de resistance".  I'm really proud of how it turned out aand I even added some stiches I've never tried (English knots) and perfected my french knots (yeah!) and it's done in time for mother's day.  These projects have really helped my skills along.  Now I just need combine the quilting and embroidery ...crazy quilts here I come  Wink

Comments and criticisms are appreciated.  No one in my family is crafty so I'm self taught.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My massive felt embroidery project on: April 15, 2008 11:23:17 AM
Each of these takes me about a month to make (at about 2-3 hrs a day)  They are for my whole family Mom, dad, 3 brothers, 2 sister-in-laws and my boyfriend.  They're tacky-licious in my opinion, I love sequins, I'm 3 away from being done and then my mom will have the whole set.  They're made from kits with some personal embellishments and a lot of extra embroidery on my part.  Plese let me know what you think! Smiley

UPDATE : here are 3 more of the completed stockings - I'm currently working on #6 featuring MUCH ribbon embroidery

Thanks for all your kind comments!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / painted rock on: April 14, 2008 05:03:48 AM
This is my first foray into rock painting after seeing Lin Wellford's books.  I think he looks rather cute, and is a great little add on in my first garden Wink
