1  Re: European Swapper Fest Round 1...The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by IrishMolly on: March 11, 2009 11:40:09 AM
The contense of the amazing package I received from Lunastar

I received a beautiful journal/notebook made by Lisette. The cover was wet felted by her and the pages a mixture of cartridge paper and pages from an old dutch book.

I included the close up because i was soooo impressed by the perfectly rounded edges and the pencil holder.
I got two skeins of beautiful handspun yarn in vibrant colors. I think this is a very good reason to start practicing my knitting and crocheting!

Some graet bits and bobs. So sorry for the terrible photo!! completely overexposed...There are ribbons and trimmings, and stickers and all sorts of exciting things. A super cute pencil case, loads of crafting supplies, papers and fabrics, and a dutch craftmagazine!

It was very interesting to look a the magazine. It is surprising how much you can understand from just looking at the pictures!

My favorite MCDHT item was a childrens book. Lisette had translated the various animal names and added some comments of her own!!!! I also fell of my chair laughing when I first read it.
There where loads of other little bits in my package which where all wounderful too. And a kinder egg and some peculiar choclate sprinkles for putting on toast! Bizarre but delisious! Im so sorry for the late posting.....

Thanks a million to lisette for her wounderful package.

2  Crazy Flower Headpieces in Costumes: Completed Projects by IrishMolly on: March 08, 2009 07:22:54 AM
I am so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Its kind of a completed project and yet sort of not....
I am designing all the costumes for an amateur production of Alice in Wonderland. We have huge numbers of cast to dress and very little money - typical Am theater! Anyhow one of the childrens choruses are the flowers and I have made these head pieces for them to wear. They are made from  wire coathangers, old tights and tennisballs. My problem is how to attach them to their heads. The underside is a tennisball with a small slice cut off so that it sits flat on their heads. I have tried thin elastic but as they are doing a dance number they need to be more secure. Anyone have any ideas? Would also love any thoughts you have in how I could improve them, etc.

Cheers
Molly

Ok folks...
I think i owe everyone a huge apology! especially my fab partner Lunastar and our great organizer NiinaMaria.
There was a bit of a family crisis happening last week and i was summoned to the land of no internet to attend the funeral and help deal with all the other crap that goes hand in hand with relatives dying.  Its a long, boring and complicated story which none of you want to hear but basically it ment that I was a crap swapper. Anyway, I am now back in the land of the living (and the internet!)

I received my fabulous package on friday of last week. It was huge and filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies! She spoiled me rotten! I am way to tired to post loads of pic now - I will do it in the morning. For now ill just post 2.
One of everything (although you cant see half the stuff!) and one of my absolute favorite thing - an amazing handmade journal. The pages are cartridge and recycled dutch book pages and the cover is wet felted. It is amazing and completely perfect! The inside cover is illustrated by LunaStar and oh i could go on for ever describing how wonderful it is!!!

4  Update my shoes... in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by IrishMolly on: October 19, 2008 04:04:32 PM

I have this really ugly and boring pair of heels which i bought cheaply once and have only worn once (to a funeral)
Because i hate them and because of bad associations I was thinking i moght try and update them a bit. My usual style is crazy, and sort of bohemiean and whimsical. I like statment shoes and my favorite shoes are from irregular choice shoes http://www.irregularchoicestore.co.uk/. I love how there crazy, cute and unexpected. I was thinking i might stencil my shoes and maybe change the button to one coverd in a cute fabric. Any ideas for designs and colours or tips (about what paint to use etc...) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a mill!!

An interesting flash of colour and a mysterious envelope... hmmm..Huh

In responce to all the feedback.  My partner was amazing and I got sooo spoiled. I'm so grateful. I wore my bangle all day and used the pouch as my purse. I loving all of it. Thanks again TerraBella!!

I received today!!! This is my first time posting pictures so sorry if it is done wrong. Also I dint have a working camera so I tool the photos using the camera on my laptop; that's why they look so weird. sorry for any body parts which appear in my photos. If Terrabella wants to post better images then please do!
Anyway, without further ado presenting My Amazing Package

Sorry that everything is backwards. Its my sad excuse for a camera.

The first thing I unpacked was the bangle which is decoupaged in pages from pride and prejudice. I immediately fell in love and put it on and haven't taken it off since!

Next I unwrapped this gorgeous watermelon inspired pouch made for storing library cards etc.
I absolutely love the fabric and the lining.

There is also a matching library tote which is reversable. I am gonna use it tomorrow and cant wait.

Next, yes there is more! are the lovely bookmarks. The cute charms on them say things like "live" "imagine"

Then came a beautiful notebook with hand printed design on the fabric cover.

Next was the great handcarved stamp of a lil birdie in a nest - inspired by To Kill a Mockingbird i think.

And then the extras ... two altoids tins (I asked for these) and an ink pad.

I was so happy with my amazing package. I dont think I can ever live up to the high standard terrabella has set.
Thank you sooooo much Terra! I love all of my stuff!
