1  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Re: calling all region rats on: June 09, 2006 08:17:16 AM
If anyone is still interested in this, I am in the process of moving back to the region after a stint in Tennessee and Virginia.  We're probably going to be in the Crown Point area but I can travel to Valpo or any of the other areas mentioned.  If there's interest, PM me and I'll try to organize something.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: cigarette STENCH on my bags..HELPPP!! on: March 14, 2006 09:01:05 PM
I had the same thing happen with some of my bags.  I used Febreeze and then hung them outside.  The febreeze worked to initially neutralize the smell and then the fresh air made them smell "normal".  When you hang them outside, hang them so that they are open.  I found that a lot of them smell was kind of trapped inside.  Good luck.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Mermaid beaded art doll craftalong on: March 08, 2006 07:40:07 PM
I used the same fringe stitch on a green goddess beaded doll I recently made.  It turned out wonderfully.  The only problem is that I wanted her to have a full head of hair and after awhile it got difficult to find new places to stitch.  Good luck.  If I can finish up some of the pending projects I have now, I may just need to start a new one...

I love it and can't wait to see it in person!

Your doll so far is looking great.  Are you using a particular stitch or just a basic bead backstitch?
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: What would be a good gift to show appreciation for a professor? on: March 07, 2006 08:17:02 AM
I'm a professor and I agree with Pudruf.  Last year one of the students who I had worked closely with did just that and I absolutely love it, point it out to everyone etc.  I also had a student who compiled a list of her original poetry in a beautiful journal for me.  She wrote a poem about how infleuntial I had been over the last few years and all.  It is one of my most prized possessions now.  At the end of the day, anything that you do to show your appreciation will be highly treasured since we so often only hear from students when we've done something wrong.  Good luck!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: new purse, new tote and my favourite thing i've made! on: February 04, 2006 08:42:19 PM
I love all of them.  The fabric is amazing.  Is it all vintage or new?  I can see why the green bag is your favorite.  You could always keep it and use it for wonderful adverstising.  Good job!
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 100 Journal Swap on: January 29, 2006 01:42:43 PM
These are both beautiful. I agree with Juniperthimble that I can't wait to see them up close.  Mine is ready to be mailed off tomorrow, but I went with more writing than art so I'll skip pictures for this one.  Of course now that I've got it sealed up and ready to ship I'm feeling more artistically creative than writerly creative...
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 100 Journal Swap (Sign-up 12/23 till we have 11 participants) on: January 22, 2006 04:38:38 PM
Mine is 8" high and 6 1/2" wide.  It's just under 1" thick.  Has anyone mailed theirs off yet?  I'm hoping to get mine out Tuesday.  At least that's the plan now....
