101  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Miss Muffett...now on a double sided apron...for ritapizza...very pic heavy on: June 24, 2008 10:54:59 AM
I made up the pattern for the apron...cut out the white part...transfered my artwork onto it via inkjet transfer paper...added some stabilizer to help it keep its shape...made about 4 yards of ruffle...sewed that on...as well as the neck ribbon...then sewed the whole thing to the contrasting fabric...right sides facing...turned it. Sewed on the ribbon tie at the waist as I stitched all around the edge. Wow...that was a mouthful!

Just thought I'd share the process...might not be the right way to make an apron...but I'd never made one before! Wink

My daughter had to get in on the photo opportunity...

Comments/questions are always welcome!  Wink
102  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / guess what? It IS possible to solder resin-New 'Men in Black' Tribute with stars on: June 21, 2008 11:16:26 AM
Felt just a little experimental this morning and thought I'd give this a try...

Just took 2 pieces of molded resin & put them together & soldered them...very carefully...because resin can melt and burn and all that yuck if you're not too careful.  Undecided

I did it with a crappy burnt out tip on the iron too...and absolutely love how it came out.  Grin

Whatcha think? I'm definitely going to do more...its a full-fledged addiction now!

I must apologize for crappy photos...but the camera just wouldn't focus with all those sparkles sending the lens into a tizzy!
103  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / For MissDisney Only...not to look at...but to have...double sided disney pendant on: June 19, 2008 08:06:53 PM
This is a double sided pendant...first side has Mickey & Minnie...other side is Donald & Daisy. I made this before I burnt out my soldering tool doing the clover for my mom's friend.  Wink

Oh well...hakuna matata!

I only make these (Disney themed anything) for friends and family...as gifts or trades... Wink

The images are from my collection of postage stamps.

I personally like the green cord with this one, but if anyone thinks another color would work better ...please...let me know. I've looked at it for too long to make any rational decisions!  Cheesy
104  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 4 leaf clover soldered glass...good luck for a cancer survivor... on: June 18, 2008 02:42:03 PM
One of my mom's dearest friends has been battling a couple of cancers...and her husband recently underwent a bypass... Sad

so I thought they could use a little luck...and I made her this:

I was originally going to just solder a message printed onto some pretty paper
'shalom' ...but since her cancer has come back...thought she could use a little more luck. Undecided
105  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tiffanys Necklace...a little resin...a little ribbon...a little love for Audrey on: June 17, 2008 05:08:38 PM
I just can't wait to start crafting for the Tiffany's swap...so I made this for myself...or maybe my partner to be.

When I get excited by a project, I've got to get crafting while the creative juice is flowing....and I don't know if I can part with this.

Its resin in a bottlecap with an image, glitter, drilled a hole for hanging...added ribbon, knots, beads, and a silver lobsterclasp/crimps. Voila! Wink

I guess I could make another one.. Wink This was superfun to do!
106  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / New princess rainbow playdress for babygirl... on: June 16, 2008 04:35:59 PM
Simple to do...the smocking was already done to the fabric...I stitched up the back...added grosgrain ribbon 'straps' and voila! She looooves to play dress up!  Wink I'm going to make her a flower head wreath in similar colors with ribbons hanging down the back as her 'crown'.

107  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 4 leaf clovers and resin...with candy and glitter....lots of glitter... on: June 12, 2008 07:25:22 PM
Wink Been wanting to do resin pendant molding for awhile & make John W. Golden proud after his superior tutorial video...

I finally got right down to it once my clovers were pressed and dry enough to go for it.

and here's the candy and glitter...

This was my previous resin experience...doing bottlecap magnets of my babygirl.  Grin

You are all right...it is addictive!

108  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Alternative Goth Lolita Nursery Rhyme Characters...my own design on onesies on: June 11, 2008 02:16:32 PM
A friend of mine is having a baby later this summer...so I've been crafting up some love from some old sketches while I'm in between projects.

I might have to make some for my kiddos too...not sure if regular folks...other than my friends would like them.
I know the designs are a bit ...shall we say....different...so my feelings don't get hurt? Wink

110  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Amelie ...playing with charcoal... on: June 10, 2008 11:54:07 AM

It's hard to watch the movie and draw at the same time...I don't speak French...so have to read the subtitles. This is one of my ab-fab-favorite movies of all time. Just keeping busy until I get a partner in the Tiffanys swap!

Comments are welcome...thanks for looking!
