32  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: HELP!! I need a recipe for a soft molasses cookies! ! on: December 01, 2014 07:48:00 PM
Soft Molasses Cookies:

1c. sugar
1c. molasses
1tsp. salt
2tsp. vanilla
1tsp. ginger
4tsp. soda
2/3 c. warm water
5c. flour
1tsp. cr. of tartar
1 egg
1c. melted butter

Combine sugar & molasses & add salt, vanilla, & ginger. Dissolve soda in warm water & add to mixture. Add flour & cr. of tartar. Add egg & melted butter. These will be very soft, so put dough in refrigerator to chill for a few hours. Roll out & cut with cookie cutter... between 1/4 - .5" thick... you know, cookie thickness. Bake at 375 for app. 10 min...but keep an eye on them so they don't burn.

35  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: stainless steel soldering and other on: November 26, 2014 10:07:07 AM
I'm not sure if you need special solder for this or not...but I always use the lead free kind in my projects. How do you plan on soldering glass items? Would you put copper tape around them first? Curious. I hope someone else can chime in with more suggestions.

We received so many fantastic ornaments in this year's 'sweat shop ornament swap' that I can't wait to get our tree up to display them! We have a green fake tree that goes up the first of December, but do get a fresh one closer to Christmas.
