31  Re: Unicorn Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by I Sew Cute on: April 20, 2012 03:59:07 AM
The thoughtful package by the talented NostalgiaDeathmatch arrived at my door yesterday afternoon!

My girlie is going to flip over everything when I share it with her. I had to keep everything a secret until it was photographed at least...or she would've run off with them.

Here is the package as a whole:

Detail shot of my favorite...a darling unicorn hoopla! Tempted to hang it in my craft room, but will most likely hang it in my daughter's room. We're taking down some of her nursery art & making a hoopla wall.  Wink

Here is a handpainted bangle with our favorite MLP preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'character....Rainbow') Dash. We know she isn't technically a 'unicorn' but she's magical!

The cutest felt clippie ever! Just look at those tiny feet & big head! Such adorable proportions! I doodle unicorns like this to entertain my daughter...so she's going to flip over this!!! Made of glittery felt....you can never have too much glitter! I really love this!

Thank you for crafting for us NostalgicDeathmatch! You were an awesome partner & I'm over the moon with everything you made! You nailed my style to a T!  Smiley

32  Hey Girl... *pattern added! in Needlework: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: April 02, 2012 04:10:24 AM
I'm a big fan of http://handmaderyangosling.tumblr.com/  & was inspired to stitch this up for my partner, canamharris in the 'Terribly Important ...' swap, because she's sew crafty like that!

I chose to do an image that included the delicously nerdy glasses to give him that 'oh so hipster smart & sexy' look. Mmmm-hmm!  Grin

Stitching through the canvas was tricky because of the thickness of the fabric. I had a hard time poking the needle through...so this was a labor of love!  Wink

I'm making the pattern available for free to alll who would like to stitch their own! Just cleaning up my original sketch & it will be ready. Cheers & happy stitching!

33  Re: Terribly Important SOB Swap II in The Swap Gallery by I Sew Cute on: March 06, 2012 07:46:22 AM
I'm back with canamharris's amazing swap package wrap up!
 Smiley
Here are royal bunny crown pics:

She has never worn anything on her head before... poor disapproving royal bunny ...even though she looked so cute in it. I gave her treats & loving for her tolerance.

And also the amazing unicorn treasure box!!! Isn't it fantastic?!!

Inside with the cutest mini vials of glitter in assorted colors! (I love glitter)
The writing inside the lid says: "Beware the Guardian of the Glitter. Only the queen has the power to enchant it. All others will suffer for trespassing in the royal glitter."

I have been royally spoiled by canamharris!!! Her goodies from abroad arrived in a most timely manner~ I am delighted with everything & need to take a few more photos in the morning, but wanted to share the glory of what I do have photographed with y'all this evening. Bear with me as I'm running on little sleep & it's already past my bedtime!

First, the thoughtfully wrapped surprises:

A crown as modelled by one of my minions...who is likely to run off with it even though it does fit my most magestic brow:

Crown detail... sparkly felt!!!

A crown for 'the royal bunny' (I will take photos of it on her in the morning. I do most of my bunny photoshoots after breakfast when we're both bright eyed & bushy tailed):

An official document...I do approve!!! This is going in my craft room to remind me of my importance!:

EDIT...Here is what it says: "Dear Your Royal Highness Queen June of Glitter & Sparkles, Your awesomeness & importance Have recently become known to the Order of the Thimble & Time Bending Stitchery. We wanted to honor you & your amazing craft with these gifts. We hope that they are to your liking and meet your glittery needs. Thank you for being you. Sincerely, Lady Danielle Lady of the Most Ancient & Most Noble Order of the Thimble & Time Bending Stitchery"
It's so awesome!  Smiley

Sketchbooks for just in case we end up on a deserted island...because the royal hands cannot be without a creative project to dabble in.

Fabric cover detail...so lovely!

Sketchbooks for the minions:

Needle books for the royal needles!

Foodstuffs from abroad! I LOVE Canadian candy & the minions claimed the kinder surprise eggs...which I approved so long as they pay tribute to my generosity later:

My hands down most favorite thing which couldn't have been made by less noble fingers than canamharris's! SHe is the Lady of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thimble and Time-Bending Stitchery after all!
The fabric makes me swoon & the embroidery is one of the most favorite things anybody has ever embroidered for me! I must dash out tomorrow & find a pillow form to fit it! I will rephotograph it when it's stuffed as my efforts are not doing it justice at this time:

I need to photograph yet another treasure!!! My 2nd most favorite part of the package! I'll keep you in suspense until tomorrow because it deserves really good morning light! There's a unicorn & glitter involved! hint*hint  Wink I had run out of time in between the package arriving & then taking my boy to his scout meeting to get it all in this afternoon... so don't think I don't love it! Let's say we're saving the best for last!

Dearest Danielle, Lady of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thimble and Time-Bending Stitchery ...you have indeed pleased me & my minions! Thank you so very much!!!

36  Whipped Body Butter in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: August 16, 2011 09:28:20 AM

I whipped up some of this last week for my sister in law & myself. I was surprised at two things... how long it took to whip & how awesome it was on my body! It was really easy to make, but I thought I'd see it start to thicken after a couple minutes vs. the 10 + minutes it took as I had never made it before. I will be making it again though! We scented it with coconut & it smells heavenly!

37  Officially Addicted...oh, yes I am!!! [Soap Making] in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: June 29, 2011 08:57:12 AM
I got over my fear of lye this week & finally did it! This is my first batch & to make it a bit complicated I split the batch so I could experiment with a couple scents & learned a lot more than I expected.
This is made with olive oil, coconut oil, and canola oil.

I was shocked at how quickly it showed that trace & after adding scent it was even thicker than pudding! I had to dash to line a pan so I could glop the soap into it before it became totally unmanageable.
This is scented with coconut, sea spray, and a suntan lotion scent blend. I should've covered it better as I got some of that white residue on the top...but I'm learning here....

I used pringles cans for molding these since I wasn't sure if I'd really like the craft & didn't want to invest much into the costs...and I love the size & shape of these little round cakes.
This one was colored with a powdered pigment that had some mica in it...so it shimmers! I likey!  Grin It smells very girlie...with a pink sugar & fig scent!

This bit has no color or scent ...keeping it natural for sensitive skin.

I have neighbors with goats...and am aching to try goats milk soap next...as well as making manly man soap on a rope in bay rum scent!
I could hardly sleep last night thinking about the next batch!  Cheesy

Somebody help me! Another craft & never enough time!!  Undecided

39  Take me to the kittens!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: June 21, 2011 06:31:22 AM
Let me gush about my latest project please, so I don't explode!
These kitten 'meow mitts' were so fun to knit & my girlie adores them to pieces!
I'd love to share where I found the pattern if that is ok... it was designed by Stephanie Dosen under the name 'Tiny Owl Knits' on etsy & I cannot wait to start my next project from one of her patterns.

It took me a couple days ...like an afternoon one day & an entire evening another day to complete them, although it would've gone faster if I didn't have 'help' from the 4 year old who wants to knit when she grows up. She un-did many rows & even pulled the whole thing off the needles at one point.  Shocked
I don't discourage her interest though.  Wink She told me she wants to knit when she grows up! Huzzah for raising a future knitter!

Wow! The jewelry is lovely! I must come back & gush more over the lovely packages everyone has been receiving, but I'm already late in posting my package that jeannebaby1 made for me. She spoiled me rotten... & I was intimidated at how many photos I was going to have to upload here!  Cheesy

First here are 2 paintings that Jeannebaby1 made! It's Elizabeth & her cousin Mary! I love the colors & also think it's fun that Jeannebaby1 & I did paintings for each other! Neither of us had any clue!  Cheesy Great minds think alike! I'm going to hang these in my bedroom!

Here is the detail from the top of the next amazing thing!

Treasure Boxes with hand beaded ornaments fit for royalty!

Each one has a pillow inside & 2 of them have bonus treasures within!!!
This one has a pendant:

Here is a precious ring with real gem! It fits perfectly Jeannebaby1! I won't have to have it resized!

This has to be one of my most favorite treasures!  It's a sun catcher-rainbow maker window ornament! I only wish the sun would come out here so I can get the full effect! Guess I'll have to wait for Friday when the clouds are supposed to break...finally.

Then here we have some hand beaded key fob/zipper pulls and another little crystal ornament that probably makes rainbows in the sun... c'mon sun!

And last but not least, a roll organizer that is velvety on one side & ties with a ribbon. I put my watercolor pencils & brushes in it & it's perfect!

Thank you so much Jeannebaby1 for the over the top package. I do feel ridiculously spoiled in the best way possible! Thank you!!!  Smiley
