31  Monkey-Nog Milkshake Recipe in Winter Holidays by I Sew Cute on: December 08, 2013 06:19:47 PM

1 cup milk
2 small bananas or 1 large banana
1/2 cup egg nog
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
optional - sprinkle in some nutmeg to taste

Blend & enjoy! *giggity*

I was in the mood for a milkshake, but being so close to the holidays & having egg nog on hand, I thought I'd make it festive. I wanted to add more nutrition, so then I put in a couple of bananas & came up with this epic monkey-nog shake! It was so good!

Ornaments galore! I'm so excited to have such a lovely handcrafted collection!

First, here are lovely blue & white pieces by gala_apples! I love these especially because it's a craft I don't do!

These cuties are made by the talented Ratfinkz & I'm thrilled they survived the long journey across the pond! I love the glitter!!!

Kimchery's felt owl is the cutest thing! The colors are so Christmasy!!!

Avesthel also made a super cute retro style felt ornament! Love the bead detail that makes it sparkle!!

What a darling angel! Like a flower fairy! I love her sweet face koalascout!

Last but not least, the fun & funny melted snowman ornament by JillHogan! My boy's favorite! Smiley

Thank you so much everyone! This swap was super fun & I love having all your handcrafted pieces be a part of the festivities this year! They're wonderful! Wink

I really love those bells and just can not wait to receive mine!

It's on it's way...as of 5 days ago.  Lips sealed I know packages take a bit longer overseas, but it's been on it's merry way already. Wink

I received my delicate starfall ornament from goldfishpollywog! It's so pretty & will look lovely on our tree! Thank you so much for crafting for me goldfishpollywog. Smiley

34  Skylanders Swap Force Jack o' Lantern - Wash Buckler - Pumpkin Carving in Halloween Decor and Parties by I Sew Cute on: October 28, 2013 10:52:16 AM
We finally picked out our pumpkins this weekend & the kids had definite ideas of what they wanted to carve. My daughter went with a traditional pumpkin face, but my boy who always has to do something different wanted to carve one of the skylanders swap force characters. He did a sketch & I translated it into a doable jack o' lantern pattern.

Here is Wash Buckler!  Smiley

My boy had fun doing the messy job...cleaning out the pumpkin. We're saving the seeds for toasting & some for planting next year.

I drew the pattern on the pumpkin in sharpie marker.

Detail of pattern...

Once the face was carved, I cleaned off the sharpie marker with a paper towel soaked in bleach...it rubs the black marker right off.

We put a little battery powered lantern light inside to really make it glow since it was such a large pumpkin... 37 lbs!

This is what we used as reference for the skylanders swap force character.

This was my babygirl's more traditional design. Wink

Happy Halloween!

The Anubis Mascot is so super cool & the reverse voodoo doll is an awesome concept & even cuter-creepy character! What great talent we have here!  Wink

I received today from milkeway and I couldn't be more pleased! I promise to give him, her, them a good home! They need names & I'm kind of partial to Walter & Jesse since I have a thing for Breaking Bad. Cheesy If they look more like a Betty & Don to you guys, I can go that route too.  Wink
Loving that they're dressed for Halloween!

We also agreed to some little extras & she made/sent some fab treats!

Little polymer clay pumpkin:

This sweet bunny...looks like my Yuki!

I got an eraser too & we can always use one of those at my house! Seems they're worn off all the pencils! How did she know?  Cheesy

Thank you for being an awesome swap partner milkeway! I'm over the moon with it all & hope you love what I sent as well!  Wink

I received the other day from hgddm! It's the cutest felt penguin ever! I have a thing for animals wearing clothes or costumes, so I think he looks super-cute in his scarf! I love him! Thank you hgddm!  Smiley

I received the cutest thing from jfer007! It's a pumpkin pincushion with embellished pins that spell out 'welcome great pumpkin'. I have it setting on my kitchen windowsill for now, so I can see it all the time as I'm working. After the holidays, it will live in my craft room. He's too cute to put away in a box until next fall & he's useful for keeping my pins safe.  Wink

Thank you jfer007! I love him!

Finally getting photos up as I received from lisasteatime today!

I have to still get action shots of the kids with their goodies, but will post everything else here first:

Adorable jack o'lantern bucket with added sparkle! The bucket will make a great luminary decoration!

The awesome loot all spread out! Candy corns, lollipops, gummy things... m&m's....
Embroidery floss in Halloween-friendly colors! A new dolly to add to my collection...unless my daughter insists she has to have it. Handmade goodies... details below!

Isn't this sweet? I love her!

An embroidered patch/brooch I can pin onto anything! It's the cat's pajamas!  Wink

A coffin shaped trinket box!
What could possibly be inside?!!

It's an epic curio of spooky awesomesauce is what!

Seriously Lisa...this is one of the most favorite things I've ever received in a swap before! It rocks! It's practically magical!!! Love it...and by the way, I love it!  Grin

And last, but not least, the surprises for my kiddos! We have to finish homework & whatnot before surprises, so I may wait until tomorrow after school to give them to them. Good way to kick off the weekend!

Thank you so very, very much Lisa!  I'm over the moon happy!  Smiley

Yay! Open gallery!

I'm posting what I sent to my partner, as I already had pictures done for another ornament swap I'm in currently & these are tricky to photograph where the flash doesn't blow out all the details of the beads.   Wink

The flash lightened all the detail of the pearl beads here, but this is mainly for scale & to show how it hangs.
