192  Breakfast at Tiffany's Audrey Hepburn stitchalong...x stitch pattern in Needlework: Stitchalongs by I Sew Cute on: June 06, 2008 06:26:55 AM
I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested, but here's a pattern for an audrey hepburn as Holly Golightly if you'd like to take a whirl at it.
I'd love to see what colors you all come up with!  Wink

I'm just gearing up for the 'crazy about Tiffany's swap'...but don't want to craft too much without knowing who my partner will be!

193  Re: Double Crochet Tot Hat with daffodil in Crochet: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: June 06, 2008 06:04:39 AM
Oh my God! It's like one of my wists coming true!  Shocked

I love the pattern and it looks adorable on your girl!  Grin

I'm not sure about the orange for my babygirl...at first I thought the orange would be too much for her...since she's very redheaded and pink skinned...It looks awesome though with your daughter's overall golden toned skin & hair! Wink
So I did some photoshop manipulating with alternate colors...and I keep going back to the orange one!  Cheesy

Let's see what other craftsters think...original orange, lavender, pinky coral...or other color?

You work fast too! I'm very impressed...and now want to try crocheting more than ever!

Ok...I worked up a little something...anyone want to give it a whirl with beads or cross stitch...go ahead.  Wink

Needed to get some of that urge to start out of my system...I'm really looking forward to this! Grin

196  Re: Mom's kick-$$$ crewel clock...Retro 70's flair...with a squirrel! in Needlework: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: June 05, 2008 05:30:38 AM
Beautiful work! I love crewel embroidery. I just can't do it though. I love the squirrel. Also check out the space age orange flower opposite the squirrel. Too cool.

Yeah...the stem with the rings of saturn!  Cheesy

As a kid, I stared at that clock for hours...checking out all the petals and stitching. I remember my mom and Nana taking a crewel class down at the rec center. They each embellished a tote bag with 'samplers'...I love those too. I'll have to ask ma where Nana's bag is...if she didn't toss it out years ago. Undecided

I absolutely love this clock my mom made...back in the day...most likely from a kit. Just wanted to share!

198  ...anyone love the little rascals as much as I do? in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by I Sew Cute on: June 04, 2008 06:56:58 PM
...my babygirl does...so much that she kisses the drawing and gets charcoal on her face! Cheesy This is Matthew 'Stymie' Beard...he was in the episodes between Farina and Buckwheat.  Wink I loved to watch the rascals with my grandparents when I was a kid...and I wish I could've gone on their adventures. Fond memories! Smiley

and here's a great reference book to help brush up on drawing people....
I needed some kind of help, as it's been ages since I've drawn this way. It still needs some work...but I can only get so far with my kids begging for the pencils!

200  olivia...colored pencils on cold pressed watercolor paper...child's room art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by I Sew Cute on: May 30, 2008 05:49:49 AM
Here's a piece I had done awhile back...and it looks great in my baby girl's room with her pink and peach walls.

I call her 'Olivia' ...from 'the Color Purple'...because the inspiration to draw her came from that movie...trying to draw the eyes in a way they seem older beyond their years.
