191  4 leaf clover soldered glass...good luck for a cancer survivor... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by I Sew Cute on: June 18, 2008 02:42:03 PM
One of my mom's dearest friends has been battling a couple of cancers...and her husband recently underwent a bypass... Sad

so I thought they could use a little luck...and I made her this:

I was originally going to just solder a message printed onto some pretty paper
'shalom' ...but since her cancer has come back...thought she could use a little more luck. Undecided

these are for her little girl:

I hope they're loved...I get so attached to things I make and don't keep.

193  Tiffanys Necklace...a little resin...a little ribbon...a little love for Audrey in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by I Sew Cute on: June 17, 2008 05:08:38 PM
I just can't wait to start crafting for the Tiffany's swap...so I made this for myself...or maybe my partner to be.

When I get excited by a project, I've got to get crafting while the creative juice is flowing....and I don't know if I can part with this.

Its resin in a bottlecap with an image, glitter, drilled a hole for hanging...added ribbon, knots, beads, and a silver lobsterclasp/crimps. Voila! Wink

I guess I could make another one.. Wink This was superfun to do!

194  New princess rainbow playdress for babygirl... in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by I Sew Cute on: June 16, 2008 04:35:59 PM
Simple to do...the smocking was already done to the fabric...I stitched up the back...added grosgrain ribbon 'straps' and voila! She looooves to play dress up!  Wink I'm going to make her a flower head wreath in similar colors with ribbons hanging down the back as her 'crown'.

195  Re: Indiana Jones Swap Gallery! Package from Apriljane to I Sew Cute in The Swap Gallery by I Sew Cute on: June 16, 2008 04:18:35 PM
The bar has been raised...just check this out....

Details are from a PM I sent Apriljane this afternoon...She rocks as a swap partner...and ROYALLY Spoiled me!

My little man helped me open Apriljane's treasure box of fun today! WOW!

It really felt like my birthday as I opened the box...guessing 'what's in here'...simply amazing!

My boy loves the 'where's waldo' game with the scroll (he calls it a treasure map),

and I think he's claiming the trading cards and the circus lion....

and he also had a tremendous time throwing the tissue paper up in the air!
(added bonus fun in the packaging you weren't anticipating!)

I have great plans for the patches...mounting them to a board and framing them...Apriljane has got great painting skills!

The pin cushion is going to keep me company in my computer cabinet....

...he might follow me around the house...I hate to think of him all alone when I'm not using the computer!  Wink

The message board Apriljane made is just perfect to keep voodoo indy and me company at the computer too...I just have to find a way to hang it in there...I think the thumbtacks are shrink plastic.

detail:

A notebook with the cool collage & painted panels inside. This is perfect for all my little henscratch notes...I have a box of 'important things' written on post its, gum wrappers, and junk mail envelopes....finally I can get that organized!

The bookmark rocks...I love sparklies and it didn't even occur to me to do something with 'diamonds'....and the earrings...love those too...I've had them in for 4 hours now and my ears still don't itch!
Thanks for that...because they're too cool to not wear them with my sensitive ears!

I'm going to pin the pin on the most awesome craft bag this side of the Ohio River!

detail: this is way cooler in real life...photo doesn't do it justice!

And the bonus matching snap close bag rocks too...

I love it when I can keep my projects separate like that ....and when anyone asks me where I got it from...I'm going to say, Have you heard of Craftster...well, Apriljane is the coolest swap partner around!

She really went overboard with the spoilage!
I appreciate every stitch, brushstroke and Apriljane's genuine creativity!

Isn't she amazing?!!!

196  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR (Signups CLOSED, Sendouts 7/2/08) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by I Sew Cute on: June 13, 2008 06:18:22 AM
Ok...Here is the clover I'm going to put in the raffle. I'll add a jump ring or bail and a stainless steel ball chain 24" in length. And I'll sew a little pouch to keep it in...so it brings this item up to a 'medium' size. Since I made so many pieces in under 3 hours....I didn't think it was fair to just offer the pendant alone.

I can't wait to see who gets it! Wink

Here's some of our back yard findings....and it looks like beadizzygrl also has found the more elusive 5 leafer too! And can you believe the size of that 'monster' she found...wow! Thats BIG luck there!

can you find it in this picture? It's like a 'wheres waldo'!

I have to agree that we don't just find them...they find us. I mean I'm not just standing out on the lawn all day looking down! I'm teaching my son his numbers...and he's skipped 4 for the longest time until I showed him the clovers...now he gets it!  Wink

Thank you too guys for the babyphoto love. I use recycled 'twist off' bottle caps and a die punch to cut the 1" circles from photos which are  sized down in photoshop and have them printed at our local photofinishing store. The edges are decorated with a little sobo glue sprinkled with glitter. I don't bother with sealing the photos with anything...and they've come out just fine...I think that is because I have them printed at a photo studio...they hold up much better. On the Indy magnets I made for the swap with Apriljane, I also had those images printed at a photo finishing store. My printer isn't the greatest anyway...but if you don't have them professionally printed, definately seal them or they can get transluscent!  Wink

198  4 leaf clovers and resin...with candy and glitter....lots of glitter... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by I Sew Cute on: June 12, 2008 07:25:22 PM
Wink Been wanting to do resin pendant molding for awhile & make John W. Golden proud after his superior tutorial video...

I finally got right down to it once my clovers were pressed and dry enough to go for it.

and here's the candy and glitter...

This was my previous resin experience...doing bottlecap magnets of my babygirl.  Grin

You are all right...it is addictive!

Everything was so much fun to make! Thanks so much for loving what I did...so many people I make things fore are like, 'oh...um, thanks'...as they just don't understand me. Wink
I've got a couple of photos to show more detail...

inside the address book: I took a loooong time doing internet research to come up with celebs addresses...so Apriljane can stalk them for autographs! (I'm in there too...in case she's up for a personal swap again sometime!) Grin

And another pic of the magnets...they are difficult to photograph aren't they? Wink

I might have to make some for my kiddos too...not sure if regular folks...other than my friends would like them.
I know the designs are a bit ...shall we say....different...so my feelings don't get hurt? Wink
