1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Project Linus? on: May 07, 2009 11:05:13 PM
Has anyone crocheted some fun blankets for older kids? Where did you find your patterns? I want to start doing this as I see what a blessing they are to children in need andchildren recovering from traumatic situations. I especially want to make things for older kids and teens. Any cool patterns out there that anyone can recommend? Thanks!

What would be the best way to stitch the pieces together?
Thanks!

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / New here. Looking for a pattern for a hat for summer... on: April 08, 2008 09:49:53 AM
Hi. My name is Becky and I am the mother of five, so not a lot of time for crocheting. But I fit it in where I can. I am currently working on the Totoro for my 3yo that everyone seems to know about but had to stop until I can find some eyes. I am planning to do a mushroom and hedgehog next. I started learning to crochet when I was 8 but didn't actually complete a project until stuck in the jungle in Panama for my husband's first Army duty station 20 years ago. I have done quite a lot since then. My favorite project was an afghan that had different stitch patterns on every few rounds.
Anyway...I have a 16yo with lots of beautiful, curly, but unruly hair. She finally got it under control this past winter by wearing a cute knitted chenille cap. Now she needs one for summer. We live in Nebraska where it is super humid. Does anyone know of a a pattern for a comfy, cool hat? It can't be too girly or she won't wear it.

Thanks. I have been reading here for a week and I love it here!  Shocked)
