171  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello, bonjour! on: April 07, 2008 11:07:40 AM
A new crafter here! My name is Hannah, I'm 18 from Ontario, Canada. I like to make lots of different things, collages, scrapbooking, illustrations, paintings, jewelry, odds and ends, baking, a bit of sewing, and I want to learn how to knit!

There's not much to say. I have some links in my signature with my flickr and deviantart if you'd like to see my photos and artwork. This seems like a really inspiring place and I hope to get some great ideas and inspiration and be able to share all of my things with you.

Thanks!

172  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Old Hollywood Glamour swap? on: April 07, 2008 10:45:17 AM
For those of us who wish we were born in a different decade of ladies and gentleman, silk and satin, champagne and classic glamour, I think this would be a good idea!
1920's-1950's-ish theme.

I've seen 50's/rockabilly sort of things, but I'm more interested in the glamorous side as opposed to the kitsch/tongue in cheek sort of thing.

I don't know how to organize swaps (I'm new) but I'd be interested in participating in something like this. I want to get involved.

So who would be into this theme?
173  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / New take on the bulletin board on: April 07, 2008 10:30:30 AM
Not sure if this is the right section to post this in (I'm a newbie, forgive!) but I wanted to share a recent, easy project I made.

I bought a metal platter from the dollar store, they had various sizes and shapes, but I chose a rectangular one. I nailed a hole through it when I got home, hung it on the wall, and added cute magnets to use it as a "fancy" take on the bulletin board, as opposed t a corkboard or something like that.

I plan on buying more and making a whole arrangement, and making nice magnets to go with it.

Thanks for looking!
