raeraethejetplane, I found my treasure chest at Hobby Lobby. Be careful though, because my treasure chest was JUST big enough for the rug; that bad boy turned out to be a lot bigger than I anticipated!

My lovely husband is kind of a Zelda nut, so for his 24th birthday I crocheted him this magnificent bastard for his man-cave...it took me about a month, and that's with my little fingers working at warp speed at every waking moment. I actually have a callus on my palm from my crochet needle! I'm so proud of it, it's like I suffered for my art. It consists of 162 worsted weight crochet squares, 4" each. This whole project was inspired by the fabulous Mario Racoon Rug by enemyairship.

He traversed the imaginary forests in our home, only to come across a mysterious chest. He opened it...


...to claim his prize! He literally made the "DOO DOO DOO DOOOOOO!" sound when he saw it! That was more satisfying than anything else

Pretty! I've been looking for birdcages, and they are a LOT harder to find than I thought. I'd leave them empty, but the pillar candles sound nice.

Very pretty! It really is nice when something comes out the way you envision it; I find that more often than not I can't get the beautiful vision in my head to actually materialize and it is frustrating to say the least... Great job, it looks like a super comfy summer dress!
