House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Organized craft room
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.) I sorted 7 Rubbermaid boxes and sold a bunch of stuff, then I bought these 2 shelving units and set them up and my Mom found the rack which I'm now using for fabric storage.  The craft room seems so much more organized and I can actually find stuff, which is so much easier.
Project Picture: (will add from my phone later)
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 Projects 2014--Let's continue the craftiness! on: August 27, 2014 11:04:52 PM
Warning: 3 more projects done - I actually have more but forgot to take pictures-tomorrow I will at work so I can finish the tutorials for all of the projects that I did.

A messenger bag/lunch bag - I used radiantex as the batting

A little "Off to school" outfit I did as part of our display at work.  Now we wait to see when we get to go back, but I will be applying for numerous positions this week despite the strike, so please keep your fingers crossed:)

A lunch tote for the work display.

House:Hufflepuff
Project Name: Washable lunch bag

Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)  An apple applique shirt
Project Picture:

Tutorial:
Apple Applique shirt
1)   Cut body of apple from a pink scrap, stem from brown, and leaf from green.  Make sure all fabric has been pressed
2)   Use a glue stick to temporarily glue you apple motif in place on the shirt.  Let sit 30 minutes or more.
3)   Use a zig zag stitch and matching thread to sew around the apple, stem, and leaf.
4)   Use a needle to pull all threads to inside.  Tie a knot with loose threads and trim excess threads.
5)   Wash with soap to wash out glue, dry in a dryer to get a raggy look around your applique.
6)   Enjoy your stylish new top!

House:Hufflepuff
Project Name: Messenger bag/lunch bag
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)  When I was 12, my Mom taught me how to sew ,the fabric was a fuschia floral print twill (I hated pink, but the idea of learning to sew won me over & when finished I actually loved the dress and wore it until I outgrew it).  I had to do a project for work so I chose this pink and orange cotton canvas and decided to make a lunch bag that doubles as a messenger bag (I don't like carrying multiple bags when I am teaching).  Again, I wasn't keen on the colours but now that it's done, I love it!

Project Name: Lunch bag

Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.) What's more important than a growing child's tummy during the school day?  I created this lunch bag from a couple fat quarters, and will have a tutorial for it in the very near future.

And a quick question, I have a photo I love, that I didn't take, and I am not in it, can I still use it for Muggle Studies?

I LOVE the Zen panda:)  I would love  to have him on a wall - I have adored panda's since infancy.

the puzzle pieces are very neat.

I am hoping to finish some more things - number on is getting my craft room set up so it's clean, organized, and a joy to be in (I think that might cover a class)

Is it a bad goal to be hoping to get a badge in every class?  I think it might be lofty, but I am certainly going to try - I have a few things done that I haven't posted - including a detention challenge:) - I have multiple sets of multiple items this time around.

Jkievit, what about 60 leis, a hula skirt, an ukulele and tons of kalua pork? Cheesy

LOL, I have Mom on leis patrol, We're wearing Hawaiian dresses rather than hula skirts - with all the running around I'll be doing, the easier to move in a costume the better, the ukulele is in the girls' room, and dinner is miso soup, a cucumber salad, rice, and Hawaiian meatballs.

And yes, it is all for a TOPS fall rally

Haven't been very productive in terms of crafting lately, but in terms of cleaning and organizing, it's going great - I've gone from 7 boxes/bags of random totes and mismatched storage to having 2 boxes of stuff to sort and 2 matching storage units!

To finish before September 8th
-paper mache surf boards
-60 gift bags
-60 zipper pouches
-beach themed quilt
-2 hawaiian dresses
-tiki bars

Just sold a box of random craft stuff for $10, just have to hang on to it until Friday or Saturday, which is ok.  My goal is to have my craft room completely clean and organized by august 23RD, and if that means getting rid of the unused stuff, then that's what I will do.
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 10 on: August 11, 2014 11:07:42 PM
Really want to do this one, but don't think I'll be able to clear my negative - the person I flaked on has not been on in like a year:(, so I'll have to watch this one and maybe do a fake swap along with you all.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Arithmancy
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: 9 Hawaiian outfits
Brief Description: My oldest niece - Miss G, just turned 8 Shocked and had a Hawaiian theme birthday party, so I created a simple "after swimming dress" for each of them (sadly, we've all been sick, and the day of her party was cold and rainy while we were camping, so they haven't been worn yet), they also each got a tank top and skorts - which again, too cold, so weren't worn on her actual b-day, but were perfect for the unplanned sleepover, and same story with the jammies - only got pics of the nightgown on Miss E,  Miss G and Miss M asked for shorts and tank tops instead, but changed before I got pics.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: DADA
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Chocolate cheesecake
Brief Description: Miss G asked for a chocolate cheesecake for her birthday so I whipped this up and decorated at camp (I forgot the pink icing, but the red outline was enough to make her happy!)

TUTORIAL for yummy cheesecake:
1) Use the recipe found here https://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/106180/no-bake-chocolate-cheesecake-pie/detail.aspx - except make it in a spring form pan instead of a pie crust
2)Find a motif that you would like to put on the cake and print it off
3)When cake has set, either free hand the motif onto the cake if you feel confident, or cut out motif, lay it on cake, trace around it with a  toothpick, remove paper, and go over the lines with icing.
4)Embellish with sugar candies, sprinkles, pastilles, candles, and anything else you desire.
5)Enjoy!!!!

P.S - tastes super good frozen too:)
