Wow, hard to believe we're already 22 days in to 2017, and I haven't claimed a spot yet, guess now is as good a time as any!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: ~*Harry Potter Craftalong Yule Term 2016/2017*~ Join anytime! on: October 24, 2016 08:22:14 AM
So I just realized this post never went through on the first day of term(I had it saved in my microsoft document)Sad  and I've already spent time on the project, so I hope it can be counted, please let me know if it can't be counted.

OWL Subject & Option(if available): Transfiguration Option 1
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Winter coat
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques used, materials using, plan of action, expected timeline, etc.)  I have 3 meters of minky fleece, 3 meters of batting, and 3 meters of commander outerwear fabric.  From this, I am going to make a new wintercoat that actually fits the length of my arms and body!  I want a nice dressy coat, so itll take a while to complete.

***NEWT PROPOSAL*** (Have designed the quilt, and calculated all fabric requirements, which has taken me 2 weeks to settle on), must be done for November 24th.
Subject: Arithmancy
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: bed coverlets
Brief Description: So we just set up our guest room as 2 separate twin beds and a foamy instead of the 1 king the girls shared before, now the king duvet I made them for Christmas wont work.  So I plan to make 3 new ones, that are winter themed (think that will work better than just a Christmas themed set)

Project Picture: In the spring I hosted a spring fling and had members design a quilt block about what TOPS meant to them.  Then I ironed all the blocks and turned them in to this quilted curtain for display at our fall rally.

   NEWT - Astronomy
NEWT Subject: Astronomy
House: Huffle puff
Project Name: Assorted prizes
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I created 5 of each of the items pictured for a total of 70 prizes,  it took about 6 months of off and on work (at least 3 hours/week, sometimes more), and once they were made I packaged them and attached tags letting the members know who donated the prizes.

Project  dump, but since photo's are on one device and I find it easier to post from my computer, I'll write the class prompts and come back later tonight to add pics - Those in power - if my pics aren't up before you update, I'll copy and paste and and repost it correctly.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Care of Magical Creatures
House:Hufflepuff
Project Name:TOPS/KOPS pledge
Brief Description: I always make up the TOPS/KOPS pledges in a way that matches the theme for our fall rally, this years theme was "Under the stars", so I typed each pledge on to a star, then cut them out and glued them together, laminated them and added a tassle.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride:Charms
House:Hufflepuff
Project Name:star quilt
Brief Description: I realized I had a load of the star fabric left, and had about 10metres of navy binding, so I cut the fabric in to strips, sewed it all together and binded it with the navy binding.  Then I raffled it off.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride:Charms
House:Hufflepuff
Project Name:star quilt
Brief Description: When we moved, I had these fabric scraps that I tossed in a bag with no regard to what I'd use them for, and full intentions to use it as dusting rags/home made wipes, well when I found them I realized inf used right, I had enough for a throw quilt, so I made it and raffled it off.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Flying
House:Hufflepuff
Project Name: Balloon weights
Brief Description: These were a project that I had to be quick with, it first involved cleaning wax out of all the tiny little glass pots, then filling them with hot glue and sticking the star in before it dried, and then we added foil stars when we got to the event.  I made 30 in total
Project picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Muggle studies
House:Hufflepuff
Project Name:Chapter flag
Brief Description: Our TOPS chapter recently changed their logo, mascot, etc.  We then needed a new banner, so I created the back ground and elephant, then I had each member write their name on a piece of felt and have pinned them on - we can remove or add as we gain and say good bye to members.

Class: hEADMISTRESS - July
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Blouse for myself
Project Description: This fabric caught my eye last year, but at $24/m, it was a little too far out of my budget, so I waited.  It finally went on clearance at 70% off, and I bought enough to make myself a blouse.

Class: History of Magic
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Quilt for Brooklyn
Project Description: I made a promise to a friends daughter 8 years ago when she was 11, that when she became and aunty, I'd make the child a quilt for their first birthday.  Tragically passed away in a car wreck, shortly after her niece was born.  One day while unpacking fabric at work, I saw this and instantly thought of her and had to make the quilt.

Class: DADA

I've got to start posting as soon as things are finished, then perhaps I won't miss deadlines.   Sad  no Alaska this round, the challenge wad to make something to help you get organized (I think), so here's what I would have entered.

My niece's "summer reading and craft camp with Aunty" organization.   One day a week I pick up all 3 girls, then we read, craft, visit the library, & play.

A couple assignments to turn in today:)

Class: Alchemy
House: Hufflepuff
Project name: lounge matts
Project Description : now that it is summer vacation,  my nieces come over every Wednesday to read, create, & visit the library for summer reading club.   I made each of them a mat to lie on in tge yard to keep them from getting hurt (the people who lived here before cut tiny trees down but left 1" stumps, along with broken glass, so better safe than sorry. There's 3 in total.
Project picture :

Class: flying
House : Hufflepuff
Project description :  with only an hour before I had to work, I realized I still hadn't put together my niece's gift for finishing the school year, & their party would be when I got home.   So I quickly dug out the gifts, & made these 3 characters (had to work fast so glue didn't dry before I got it put together and so the chocolate would not melt.  Then everything went in the box which I then decorated and tied with ribbon.
