1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: A night as Avatar on: November 03, 2010 06:37:15 PM

that looks so computer done...did you alter it on the computer or something?

And for anyone else that may doubt the legitimacy of the photos, please check out the photos on rsvpatl.com . The photos were taken at Cosmo on the 30th of October by a professional photographer that is paid to take pictures at the nightclub.

=D

Looked for the photos, couldn't find them. Went to Shots -> Cosmo -> Nightmare on 13th St - October 30.

I could only find store bought costume wearers. Could you please direct me to the photos?

This costume is indeed awesome, btw.  Smiley

its around number 80...
it looks that way (computer made) cuz of the lighting/camera/type of paint/contrast..

All I can say is... I want that backpack... I'll be looking for scrap tapestry fabric as from today... uuhh... I can see it in a vintage-y roses fabric... Oh I love you! I've been meaning to use that city-backpack tutorial and this is just it!

3  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Modcloth dress... Petaluma.. on: August 18, 2010 10:36:27 PM
Hello all!!
I saw this dress on modcloth and i just loved it.. but the elastic at the waist doesn't really convince me..or the double skirt... so I kinda want to make it myself, and I was hoping someone out there would help me find a pattern that looks similar.. it doesn't even have to be for a dress.. a top would do.. Smiley
or maybe some guidelines on how to pull it off..or a tutorial would well..

heres the link to the dress...

Thank youuu...and good night!

hey! thanx for the reply! I kinda followed noodleheads gathered one for the zipper attaching part,  its quite similar to that one... but didn't work for me.. maybe i missed a step.. I dont know..  Huh

I already finished the bag.. and I used bias tape to cover the seams.. maybe someone here will point in the right direction for my next one Smiley
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / my new canteen... NO.. its a bag! -_-* on: July 09, 2010 07:53:35 PM
Ok, so my sisters first thought when she saw the bag was.. "hey.. heading out to the desert?".. but whatever she's not gonna get me down!.. although it does look kinda like it.. lol

anyways..I made this (canteen).. ahem! BAG! Smiley

accesorized with pins and metal studs from an old belt..

peek inside, the sewing is awful! but its only my first try.. Smiley

detail of the strap.. I like this very much Smiley

P.S: IIIiiinn case you guys are wondering, the fabric was originally gray, I dyed it black and then tried to bleach it.. but this has to be the best fabric in the world, all that was bleached out was the dye :O.. and some of the black blotches you see are diluted acrylic paint.. oh! and its crossbody!

love to hear what you guys think! Smiley

Hello beautiful people!!..

I'm in the middle of making a bag kinda like this one...

http://www.hobobags.com/Deb/pd/np/11/p/1333.html

the problem is..I'm stuck in the lining part.. you see when you make a bag and you assemble the lining and the bag separate, and then you put one inside the other sew, turn and sew the opening?, well.. i dont know how to do that when theres a zipper involved. I already have the "gusset" (dont know if thats how its called but its the width part). And from there forward I'm stuck.. I tried searching for a duffel bag tut and kinda use that as principal, but it doesn't add up in my mind... or I dont know how to make it add up!  Undecided

should I just attach it like the newly I am and put bias tape on the showing seams or is anybody out there who can help me!?  Undecided..
