these are pillowcases.
it's backstitched with black and red, black & blue floss with a splash of metallic tread in the T & L.


i love this pattern! it takes no time at all to do.

i made this for my dad for his birthday/father's day (matches my mom's paisley)
he was born in nova scotia, i'm sure this reminds him of home...

i've always wanted something like this as a back piece, tattoo-wise.
i'm not quite finished it, but i wanted some feedback also because i'm working on a few other things as well as going to my 'real' jobs...

**which is better; split stitch or back stitch?
  the split stitch is in the lining of the roses and of the skull, back stitching is pretty much all the detailing
**do you find it looks messy when the stitches are switched up?

 what do you think?

thanks to tygir's beautiful paisley (i hope you don't mind), i got inspired to make this for my mom...it pretty much took all day to do, but i think it's worth it.
(the pillow is hand stitched. i need a sewing machine badly)
it's got some lavender inside for relaxing comfort...

i made this for a 4yr old boy's b-day, who has waaay to many toys.

it's on a 50/50 polly cotton blend, stuffed with old tee shirts, embellished with old buttons

i personally love it. but i guess i'm biased

i did this for a friend whose leaving for a promotion and new job...
i'm going to add some hybiscus flowers to the top and stuff...
should i put the detail in around the head, like it is in the book? i find it might make it look too busy..

i dispise working with gold (any metallic) thread..but it always turns out good..






i added the flowers at the top....with my first attempt at french knots...i'm so proud..

are resin and epoxy the same thing?
can it be used the same ways?
does epoxy bond more to things (ie:molds) more than resin?
should i line my mold with something (ie: vaseline) to release easier?
i bought some 5-minute epoxy  (it's called 'adhaero') at the dollar store. it's a double syringe and contains only about 2 ounces of liquid, combined.
..i'm just gonna use a plastic disposable cup to suspend some things inside and see what happens...

it's a terrible pic, cuz of the colour of the pillow case (it's turquoise)
but the unicorn has a rainbow mane and golden hooves and horn...
i think it rules!

i'm pretty excited about this.
i went thru all my old stuff yesterday, got rid of a bunch of crap, but found stuff that i could take apart and make new.

this necklace is bits and pieces of a few things. it's a link necklace (that was too small) so i added a few links of a necklace from grandma (that i loved) to make it large enough. i found a cell phone charm (tacky) at the dollar store, took it apart and added it to it.

the pics don't really do it justice, it looks a lot better in person.

the whole thing...i like the asymmetrical-ness
