1  First Solo Baby Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by Duckie_365 on: September 23, 2010 12:21:13 PM
Many moons ago (I was like 6) I managed to sign-up my mother and I up for the Church's Quilting Group without her knowledge. All the little old ladies were very against having me there helping them sew quilts for AIDS babies and lap-quilts for senior citizens... but since I was a well behaved kid, and not tearing up and down the isles screaming my head off like they feared I would... they invited us back. Over the next 8 years I slowly moved up the totem-pole from finishing the quilts by tying yarn knots to sewing the fronts of the quilts together, but then we moved.

It's been a while since then, but when I got an invite to a co-worker's baby shower (after failing horribly at trying to navigate Babies 'r' Us) I decided to break out my mom's old singer and take a wack at my first solo quilt attempt.

It took a couple frantic calls to my mother, but here is the final product.
