Time to go fishin'!  Alright, so they other day at JoAnn's my mother and I were hanging out with the pattern catalogs when my lovely mother noticed the sales sign said that Butterick patterns were 99 cents each.  Oh, Christ on a cracker, it was on.  We got 10 (TEN!!) patterns. (1 umbrella, 3 aprons, 1 dog-themed, 1 swimsuit, and 4 dresses if I remember correctly)  Then we were roaming the fabrics, looking for stuff to make when I happened on goldfish (GOLDFISH) fabric and it's destiny was clear.  I definitely needed an a-line goldfish-themed dress for the new school semester and it was done just in time for being able to see my fiance on our 2.5 year anniversary.  And here it is -

This, by the way, is my first ever "from scratch" anything and I'm amazingly proud of it.  I have some music note fabric and cherry fabric that I officially know /just/ what they'll be used for.  I can't wait to make more of these!! Any comments are SUPER appreciated. (Yes, SUPER.)

Hey, first time on the jewelry board so play nice    There was a sale at Hobby Lobby the other day on plain wooden bangles so I snatched up a few to paint.

(There's this one spot in the heart that looks like the paint's too thin.  I've done several coats - drying in between - and that spot just won't go away.  Any suggestions are known causes??)

I'm making a pin-up calender this Christmas for my fiance and I'm quite stuck on ideas for some of the months.  I have suggestions for most but I'd love to hear any from anyone on here.  My biggest challenge so far is May.  Remember, I will not be nude in any of the pictures but anything up until that is open.  I'm not shy at all so ANY suggestion is GREATLY appreciated.

At Wal-Mart the other day, I found these adorable plaid shorts.

They only had one size left (too big) and according to a certain person, I have enough "lesbian shorts" and I need to be more girly so I made them into a skirt.  I don't have progress pictures but it was like...4 steps.  So here I am in my new skirt!

MayDay (huge Indy concert) is coming up in less than a week and I've just finished one of three recon T's for me and two girlfriends.  Here's the first (mine since I was available to measure, mark, and fit on such short notice).  Men's medium plain red shirt, acrylic "fabric paint" from the dollar store (god knows if it'll stay after the concert so we're not risking washing it and the chalk can just stay right where it is), some sewing, cutting, tucking, pinning, finger pricking, exacto-ing and ribbon.  The sewing was my second ever attempt (after the requisite pillow filled with fabric scrap for my Pom puppy) and I honestly guessed the whole time.
