11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: One boring wooden bracelet and then a kick-ass one. on: July 20, 2008 01:22:58 PM
Why don't you try painting the spot white and then after it dries, paint over it in pink.  That might neutralize the black spot. Smiley

The white panel with the princess crown does the same thing and it's different paints so I'm thinking it's the wood but thanks for the suggestion ^_^ I'll try it just in case.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More Bracelets = More pictures!!! on: July 20, 2008 11:00:32 AM
Hey, first time on the jewelry board so play nice  Wink  There was a sale at Hobby Lobby the other day on plain wooden bangles so I snatched up a few to paint.

The first is plain dark green with lighter green vine/leaves/ivy/something -

Blurry counter shot

Action shot

(I just realized that my wrist looks broken in this picture...)

Bracelet #2 Not for sale, purely my own <3 It's a stretch bracelet with 7 wooden panels.
Panel 1 - Hot pink base with "fancy" 'K'

Panel 2 - White Base with black zebra stripes

Panel 3 - Black base with hot pink heart

(There's this one spot in the heart that looks like the paint's too thin.  I've done several coats - drying in between - and that spot just won't go away.  Any suggestions are known causes??)
-- UNFINISHED AS OF YET, MORE PICTURES LATER--
Panel 4 - White base with Pomeranian silhouette and lime green "HANK" for my puppy

I have no idea why a digital camera looks like it double exposed...

Panel 5 - Black base with lime green Runic 'J' (This is what a 'J' looks like in Runes, by the way.  For my fiance, Jeff.  Not that he'll know what it is but it'll make me think of him when I wear it)

Panel 6 - White base with princess crown.  Cuz I'm a muthafluffin' princess!

Way blurry... Sorry

Panel 7 - Black base
* I don't know exactly what to do with this panel but I'll think of something...*

And comments, suggestions, criticism greatly appreciated <3
P.S. Sorry for the peanut butter...  And the blur.

The Muffin Joke:

Two muffins are sitting in the oven.
One muffin says to the other muffin, "Man, it's hot in here..."
And the other muffin goes, "Oh my God! A talking muffin!!!"

Tada!

Thank all of you for your lovely comments <3

Surely you all know the joke about the talking muffin.  I grabbed this shirt a couple days ago for the color and the first thing that popped into my head was 'OMG A talking Muffin!'   Thy will be done and we get this --

Detail of the muffins.  One is fainted ^_^

And a very happy Kris

Whole thing hanger shot

And the purple one - made at/for Disney World.  The wand looks like it's 'touching' the heart when worn.  ((I know the edges are curling, it's a crappy iron-on and it didn't like being cleaned so I need to sew it down.))

I'm super happy with my muffin shirt and will be wearing it often ^_^ Any comments are highly appreciated <3

-P.s. All are acrylic paint on craft store shirts and one crappy iron-on - nothing special.
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Plaid Recon - Shorts to Skirt on: June 30, 2008 08:06:37 PM
It's really cool but I think it would be better if it was a little shorter. The puppy is cute and I love the heels!
I love short skirts but I know my limits and the knee is about as high as it goes lol

there's always cinco de mayo, you could be making margaritas in nothing but an apron and heels Grin

I think I love you, ma'am. <3

I'm making a pin-up calender this Christmas for my fiance and I'm quite stuck on ideas for some of the months.  I have suggestions for most but I'd love to hear any from anyone on here.  My biggest challenge so far is May.  Remember, I will not be nude in any of the pictures but anything up until that is open.  I'm not shy at all so ANY suggestion is GREATLY appreciated.

1: We've got a store here called Half Price Books that always has crazy magazines so any store like that might work.
2:  Check out tattoo shops!  They, like hair salons, like to keep up-to-date on their hot styles and such and may have a few laying around.
3: If not the shop, ask the artists themselves.

love it. Did you follow the same steps you would to make jeans into a skirt?

Yep and the material's thinner so it wasn't difficult to re-sew like some jeans are.
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plaid Recon - Shorts to Skirt on: June 24, 2008 02:56:52 PM
At Wal-Mart the other day, I found these adorable plaid shorts.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9714178
They only had one size left (too big) and according to a certain person, I have enough "lesbian shorts" and I need to be more girly so I made them into a skirt.  I don't have progress pictures but it was like...4 steps.  So here I am in my new skirt!
Front

Stretch (with my Pom, Hank)

Side

Action (I love those heels <3)

P.S. Ignore the shirt, I pulled it out of the laundry because I have nothing to match the skirt yet and I'm not taking pictures in my bra.
Comments are greatly appreciated  Grin
