1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / "The Chair Dress" on: March 29, 2011 11:31:12 AM
Girl's jumper from a Butterick See & Sew pattern; minus the ruffle on the bottom hem. Size 3T. Fabric came from www.freshsqueezedfabrics.com -- love, love, love her selection! I just adore these simple chairs...

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Market Skirt (with link to tutorial) on: March 24, 2011 06:51:26 PM
Discovered this "market skirt" pattern online, with free tutorial: http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-market-skirt.html. Love it! Big kudos to the author for the friendly tutorial with simple steps and fabulous photos. Here are 2 finished items I've made from this tutorial (fits about a 2T-3T):

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sweet Little Dress (Leila & Ben pattern) on: March 24, 2011 06:46:47 PM
Purchased this pattern from Leila & Ben (via Magpie Patterns). Adore it, and have now made 4 of them, in 3 different sizes. Great piece that can serve as a dress, tunic, top as the child grows...

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted "Blossom" Dress on: March 20, 2010 11:37:05 AM
Okay, so I haven't tried this on my daughter yet. But I sure love the look of this wrap dress -- one of my favorite all-time FOs! I used Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. I wasn't going to bother with the embroidery, since that's not my forte, but now I'm glad I did.

Pattern is available for free here: http://tinyhappy.typepad.com/tiny_happy/2008/06/blossom---a-knitted-dress-pattern.html -- Thank you Tiny Happy for sharing!

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 4 Kid's Hats on: March 13, 2010 09:24:10 AM
Knit these 4 hats for a fundraiser auction for my kids' school. All 4 were sold and made money for the school and went to good homes!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cheery Scrap Cap on: March 13, 2010 09:21:32 AM
From the online pattern mag, Petite Purls: http://www.petitepurls.com/Winter09/winter2009_pcheery.html

I made a few modifications to the pattern, mostly just changing the heart motif in the girl's version to a tree, to make it more unisex. A fun knit! (Although weaving in the ends, with this many color changes, was not so fun.)

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Boheme baby vest/cardigan on: July 08, 2009 12:53:24 PM
Found this beauty via another poster on Craftster (check out Voolenvine's very cool version: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=302368.0) and absolutely fell in love with the pattern.

Here is my take, in Fiesta Boomerang, colorway "Raspberry Mocha":

And it was a fairly quick knit, too. This may be my new staple knitted gift for new baby girls...

Updated: October 2009
My baby is here! And she *loves* her cardigan/vest -- it's a 6-month size, but I think she'll be able to wear it for quite some time, given that the length doesn't matter. Here it is in action:

Updated October 2010
Boheme is still being worn by my now 1-year old (I knit the 6-month size). Still one of my favorite knits of all time...
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Topaz baby dress on: April 23, 2009 06:00:53 PM
Topaz baby dress pattern from Spring '09 Knitty: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring09/PATTtopaz.php, made from Malabrigo worsted in colorways Indigo & Lettuce.

I adore it! Great, easy knit, and the diamond pattern across the skirt is a nice touch for fairly little effort (it's only 9 rows). I can see myself making more than 1 of these beauties...
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Adorable Anouk Jumper on: June 27, 2007 05:19:02 PM
I just adore this pattern, and this is now officially my favorite thing I have ever knitted. It's Anouk from Knitty (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/PATTanouk.html), and the yarn is Berocco Touche.

I started this dress for a friend's daughter, but it took me too long and it's now too small for her. In the meantime, I got pregnant myself, and I figured that if I had a girl, it would most certainly be hers. But I just found out this week that I'm having a boy -- so Anouk will sit in the closet until another close friend or family member has a baby girl who can wear this stunning item! (And then I will be reluctant to let it go...)
10  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Another Big Bad Baby Blanket - that I adore on: June 10, 2007 05:38:55 AM
I adore this blanket... When I started knitting it, it was for a friend's baby shower. While I was knitting it, I got pregnant myself! And now it is mine and will stay mine. I grew too attached to it!

The yarn is Dream in Color sock yarn in the colorway "November Muse" (which is so perfect -- my little one is due in November!). It's superwash merino wool and was wonderful to work with, and the color options are rich and marvelous.
