22  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / So sad! on: January 23, 2009 07:00:12 AM
I went to go to Walcott today and noticed it was gone!  I am so sad they had a great selection of stuff.  They also had some great classes.
23  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: solution for rubbing thighs under a dress on: January 18, 2009 08:33:39 AM
everytime i did that they rode up... drove me nuts! i've never tried to put a hem on them though, that might have helped. i hate the not-so-fresh-and-sweaty feeling i get when i wear pantyhose anyway. i wish they breathed better!

apparently there is this magic stuff available in the states that's made by monistat that you put on your thighs to prevent chafing. it's silicone based, so it's not sticky but stays on all day until you wash it off. it's supposed to be silky feeling. a few of my friends have tried it. it's definitely added to my to-buy-the-next-time-i-go-across-the-border list. right up there with yarn and fabric!

Im posting without reading all of them.. but...

this stuff works wonders!  I wish I could but it by the case loads.  I never go on vacation without it because when I go on vacations its always to somewhere hot and sticky.

Heres my 2 cents.

Is there anything that can be done about jeans that pinch in the waist in the front and has a gap in the back when I sit... How in the hell that happens I dont know.

I am a member also of the itty bitty titty commity cup wise.  Im a 50b.   But also on top of that I have the "side boobs".

I like tshirt knits because I can stretch the parts I need more room in.

MidwestDiva - What is this ninja scarf of which you speak? It sounds intriguing...

It was a scarf I saw on threadbanger a long time ago. After worktoday I will look for it.  It's real simple. But the image of it still haunts me because I want it!
28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: The Lovers Hair Barrette on: January 01, 2009 06:40:55 PM
oh thats so cute!  I use to wear a flower in my hair ALL the time. That was years ago.  Well I just got back from a cruise and it rekindled my love for hair flower barrets.  Warm tropical weather does that to a midwest gal.

3. a watchman stuffie of sorts.
4. baby onesies for a friend.
5 a new ninja scarf for me.
6 a quick everyday shrug to throw on.
7 an oil painting. (taking a class this spring)
8 a cool potted plant thing I saw in a magazine.
9 a little garden outside (does that couint?  its so i have flowers to press, so I guess it does)

Good luck everyone!  cant wait to see photos!
30  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / Re: WOW, we Wisconsinites must be too busy crafting!! on: December 06, 2008 05:22:54 PM
Looks like everyone IS pretty busy crafting!  I am also included in this Smiley.

I've been working on allll sorts of goodies for the Holiday Craftacular, here in Madison, that I'm going to be a vendor for this Saturday, the 6th.

I'm so excited!  It's my first craft show.   Man, I sure hope I sell a few things!  It's in the Masonic Center on Wisconsin Avenue and there's a big room and a little room...and I got put in the little, off to the side room Sad  Hope that doesn't affect me too much.  Here's a little taste of what I have to offer (but there will be more!) :  jreneedesign.etsy.com

Im in Madison too!

im busy working on a yoyo quilt. I am a new to sewing but Im loving it. I tried knitting but it did not go well. I crochet a little. All I know how to do is a single stich.  So I can only do scarfs...lol

Im going on vacation soon..  Wish I could bring my sewing suff on the plane.

What kind of sewing stuff would you be hoping to do?  By hand?  Because that's still feasible on a plane - I just use a nailclipper to cut any threads.  However, if you are wishing you could bring your sewing machine on a plane, that's a different story...hehe.

Oh I wish I didnt have to work today!  I wanted to go to the show.  Why cant it be 2 days long!  How was it today?

I was trying to make my yoyo quilt.  Do you think they will let me bring it? I just need one little needle.  I dont mind not even having scissors.
