My favorite band is My Chemical Romance...if any of you have checked out my other posts this is obvious.  So they are the subject or inspiration of many of my craft projects.  When ever I go to one of their shows I make them gifts...I have made them scarves and given them to the guys on two other occasions.  So this time since the show was in the summer and I had just given them scarves in April I made them coffee cozies as they all love coffee!!!
So I made the cozies out of felt and put a logo of something each band member likes in felt and/or stiching.  I have never made a project like this before so it was a new experience.

The first photo is all 4 of them together...I used a Starbucks cardboard holder to them out of two colors of felt to layer.  Then I just googled pics of the logos I wanted...

this is the first one I did, it is the Autobots Transformers logo.  I just go for things I don't trace them or size them first I just looked at the picture and started to stitch...it didn't turn out quite as nice as I would have liked but I still like it.  It was meant for the guitarist Ray Toro.

This one is a Ghostbusters logo for Mikey Way the bassist.  I just looked at the pic and cut out the felt, stitched on the details, then fit it together and stiched it onto the cozie.

Next is the Watchmen Comedian smiley button for the lead singer Gerard Way.  Again I just cut out the circle and stiched on the detail then stitched it onto the cozie.

Last but not least is Frankenstein for Frank Iero guitarist...I cut out the general Frankenstein shape and looked at a Sublime Stitching pattern and just used it as a loose guide.  The light green stitches are done with glow in the dark thread.

After all that I just wrapped them around a Starbucks cup to measure and stiched them up the back in the contrasting color floss.

They took me the first 3 Freddy Krueger movies to finish with some messing around in between.

I went to 2 My Chemical Romance shows last week but did not get to give the cozies to them so they will be saved for the next concert.  Hope everyone enjoys seeing them, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I made shirts for MCR concerts I attended...6 over 8 days some I made with the YUDU (I posted those under screenprinting)  These are 2 that I hand painted using fabric paint.

My sister and I followed MCR for 8 days and saw 6 shows so I made myself a shirt to wear to each concert...some I screenprinted using my YUDU the others I hand painted.  I am only posting the YUDU ones in this post.

these are the front and back of the shirt I wore to the last show in Cleveland and Frank signed it...he asked if I had made it.  I don't think that I ironed it enough because the ink bled.  (I was sweaty because I was 2nd from baracade for the whole show, and as any of you who have gone to their shows know you get to know everyone really well & the guy in front of me had a leather coat on!?!)  Here is with Franks signature

This was the best week ever we got to meet the guys several times and all the fans I met were awesome!!! 

A few years ago I made scarves for the guys in MCR and threw them up on stage...you can read my previous entry.  So this year my sister and I followed them for 6 shows in 8 days and I made them more scarves.  I made each scarf the same color as the guys ray guns from Danger Days.  Needless to say it was the best week of my life, got to meet all the guys several times.

In Grand Rapids, MI I waited outside Vertigo records to get a wristband to meet them for about 5 hours in the rain.  I got to give them my scarves and they loved them, they all put them on right away.  Frank was super interested in how long it took me to make them and was really inspecting them!  Gerard checked out the tags that I made.  I got hand shakes or high fives from all of em.  It was great.


The pics of the guys are from the Grand Rapids newspaper, since they wouldn't allow us to take any during the signing.  My sister and I were also in the paper waiting outside in the rain.
Then the next night in Cleveland, OH after the show Frank was wearing his.  I had him sign the shirt I made and he asked if I made my shirt I replied "yes and I also made the scarf you are wearing."  Frank said " I didn't even look at your face, thanks so much."  And then he hugged me!!!  He said that he woke up with a sore throat that morning and that my scarf was really helping.  He talked to me for a while and asked if he would see me this summer as I had told him this was our last show on the tour.  Wish I could have gotten a pic with him but he said that he had already told a bunch of people no.

I made this skull cake for Halloween this year but did not get it posted until now.  I made a red velvet cake with buttercream frosting.  It is a little sloppy because it was my practice cake but I liked it so much I didn't make a second...

I took it to my works Halloween Pot Luck but everyone hated to cut it cause they thought it looked so cool and/or gross   But the funny thing was everyone kept saying who made that skull...oh it was Kristi, how does she have time for all that stuff.  Can't wait to make a zombie version...hum maybe for Valentine's Day it could be eating a heart...oh the possibilities

Halloween is my favorite holiday so when we planned a trip to Disney World I had to go to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  I decided I wanted to be Helena from the My Chemical Romance music video.  Looked at lots of pattens then remembered I really do not like sewing...I love making things and getting them ready but the actual act of sewing drives me crazy.  So I decided to redo a dress I already had and recruit my mom.

With minor alterations my version of the Helena dress was born.

We had a great time at the party, where else could I go trick or treating and get no funny looks...and a few people even knew who I was.

These are the scarves I knitted for the guys in my favorite band My Chemical Romance. I threw them up on stage during their show in Denver 4/14/08. It was so awesome because the lead singer, Gerard Way said how cool it was that someone threw a bag of hand made scarves up on stage. I was right up front and yelled "IT WAS ME" while jumping and he pointed right at me saying how awesome it was and thank you then gave me the thumbs up. The scarves are just a regular knit stitch so they didn't take very long to complete.  I learned how to make the labels on Craftster:)
