11  Re: Sweat shoppe swap round 2! Sign ups close June 1 ('06) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by blueblythe on: May 30, 2006 06:00:33 PM
Here are pictures of the button necklaces I will be making (sorry about the terrible scanner pics):

I'm still trying to think of what to make for my second item. Would anybody be interested in mini shrines like these? (they're brightly coloured, the scanner washed them out)

I got my package from Buglake yesterday and it was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely adore everything.
Sorry for the pictures, my cat Rocket was very interested in everything, he obviously appreciates felt, or could it be the smell of some fellow kitties?

Heres a pic of everything:

The yummyiest looking donuts:

A really cute felt monster that's happy on one side and sad on the other:

A vintage ET toy, how on earth did Buglake know that I collect anything ET?HuhHuh?

And the best for the last..... the most amazing pillows, one is an x-ray of my cat Rocket and the other is of Venus

Thanks so much Buglake!

15  A comfy denim corner for my craft room! in CHALLENGE 7 ENTRIES by blueblythe on: November 07, 2005 07:39:12 PM
My craft room needed somewhere for my boyfriend to chill with a book when I was crafting so I moved an old vinyl couch in there. It didn't look too amazing so I spruced it up with a cordinating denim throw, pillow and rag rug!

I cut up 6 pairs of jeans into 7" squares and then laid them out on the floor to arrange the different colours of denim in the most interesting arrangement, i then picked out certain squares to embroider. I used straight stitch on my sewing machine to embroider large circles over it to make it look more modern. i then sewed all the squares together. I used stripes of denim for the back and an old blanket for stuffing. I tacked it in a few places with red yarn to keep the stuffing in place and to add to the design.

I made a coordinating pillow with smaller squares of denim for my cat to sleep on. I embroidered his name on it and a rocket!

Lastly I used the same red yarn as a warp and I wove a rag rug using strips of denim cut from 5 pairs of jeans. I cut the jeans from the waistband down to the leg so that I could get the longest strips of denim for weaving.

I just got my sock monkey from lespaulguitargurl today. He's the cutest. My boyfriend's away on tour with his band and he took the digital camera so I had to scan the poor monkey. Boy he didn't like the bright light, he had to take his glasses off!

She also sent the cutest purse with embroidered monkey love on it. It has a green gingham lining.

Thanks so much lespaulguitargurl!
