Wow - you made so many crayon rolls! I've never given them myself, but I think they are SUCH a cute gift.
I've been busy too - finishing up the visor cd case for my dad, working on a pillow for my sister with photo fabric sheets printed with images of her dogs, helping my friends make a batch of limoncello for their gifts and putting together packages of baked oatmeal.
The baked oatmeal kit is a great last minute gift - if you're interested, here's what you do:
Put all of the dry ingredients from the following recipe into a cute bag. Print out a recipe card and tuck it inside. That's it!
Baked Oatmeal Recipe - from the kitchen of (insert your name here)
Included in mix:
2 c quick oats
1/3 c brown sugar
1/3 c. raisins
2 T chopped walnuts
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t ground ginger
1 pinch of nutmeg
1 t baking powder
1 1/2 c skim milk
1 apple, grated
2 T butter, melted
1 large egg, beaten
1 t vanilla
1. Mix the first 8 ingredients into a medium sized bowl.
2. In another bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients. Pour wet ingredients
into dry ingredients and mix well.
3. Pour into square baking pan and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve
with a large dollop of yogurt.
This is one of my favorite winter breakfasts and I think it makes a fast, but thoughtful present. Enjoy!
