1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: European Swapper Fest Round 1...The Gallery on: March 04, 2009 01:02:33 AM
Look at all the lovely yarny parcels!! The standards in this swap are seriously high  Shocked

I have finally managed to get my parcel from Heini. The lame post office opens 9-5 and I work 8-6, 25 miles away... FAIL

I received a fantasic package, including handmade cards and notepads, and a hat made from yarn dyed with mushrooms! Thank you so much Heini, I'll add some pics to this post tonight Cheesy

I am sending after work today, the box is tucked under my desk right now Smiley

Here is a teeny preview of what I'm sending to Heini

2 weeks to send out!
I think I'm going to be sending on the deadline day too - it's been pretty hectic around here and I need to knuckle down with this swap package now!

I'm going to have a hunt around at work today and find a box, as I think that'll help me visualise how much I'll need to fill it.
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: the ethics of seling pre-worn items? on: January 26, 2009 06:08:10 AM
If you bought a new skirt in a high street shop it could've been tried on countless times and even worn with the tags in and returned, so I don't think you'd be doing anything wrong selling it.

I understand that some items look much better when shown on a human, but personally I dislike seeing items photographed on a person. I don't like to be reminded that my purchase has been on someone else's head/neck/hands.
I guess I might be saying it'd be better not to say it's been worn. Price it accordingly if you feel that's fairer, but so long as it's clean and as good as new I would personally rather be kept in the dark about this.

I'm a bit stuck on the "my country.." part, I need to have a good look around.

I would say the UK is known for Cadbury's chocolate, union jack flags (and drunk men with union jack swimming shorts!), woven cloth, and wet weekends. Hmm...

I'm doing well with supplies though, Heini has great taste in colours and I'm enjoying putting some nice things together for her Cheesy

Partners! Yay!

Hello partner!
We look very well matched, we seem to love thrift shopping as much as each other Cheesy

I can't wait for partners! Sorry for making numbers uneven though Wink

Personally I'd rather do a round robin style than send 2 packages, but that's just my 2 cents.

After stalking this thread for weeks, I caved and sent in my questionnaire Smiley

I'm from south-east England, which is not that famous for anything good...
Actually, I work near Worstead, which is where worsted yarn originates from, but I think most countries have that already!

That makes it even more impressive! I went back and looked at the photos and I still don't believe it's leather!
I agree A2K, in fact I think it would make a lovely mother's day present  Grin

The little stripey clutch is really cute, I love the fabric. Was that the last parcel?

Hi again, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

Meganlorraine I didn't realise Addicted2knitting was your mummy before this swap Smiley
I thought Islandprincess was going to send you leather? The bag is a great shape, did you make up the pattern?
