1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New on Pg3-Very TINY Origami Cranes in Miniature Bottles on: January 20, 2010 07:52:06 PM
Hi! It's been a while since I last posted my mini origamis. Here are my latest:

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I sculpted 3-D TATTOOS - New Item on Pg 3 on: January 11, 2010 09:31:15 PM
I posted about this earlier but for some reason the images are gone so I'll try again this time. These are old-school Western tattoo inspired pendants that I made using air-drying resin clay (it's not the same as casting resin). They clay is already coloured, I just accentuated the piece with a little acrylic paint and sealed it with a few coats of varnish. The banners are customisable.
I don't want to flood this thread with tons of HUGE images, so see larger images on my Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/tracygoh/

I also took some tiny heart-shaped bottles and filled them with casting resin to make these little cuties:

Thanks for looking. Cheers! ^_^
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Old School Tattoo Inspired 3D Pendants on: December 29, 2009 07:55:50 AM
Dust of Enchantment 2009

If old school heart tattoos were 3D, this is what I imagine they'd look like ^^ The banners are customizable. I sculpted these pendants freehand without the use of molds, this means that the heart, roses, leaves and banner were 100% hand formed in air-dry clay. They are accented with some acrylic paint and then sealed in layers of quality varnish to achieve a glossy finish and durability.

4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Artisan Teas Anyone? on: September 02, 2009 08:23:48 AM
I couldn't find a more appropriate category for tea so if this post shouldn't be here, feel free to move/delete it Smiley

Anyway, I'm a big tea drinker (love coffee too but it makes me very sick) and started making my own blends 2 years ago. I like experimenting with exotic ingredients that you don't usually find in teas and come up with something new. So if you also like a cuppa, here's what I have to share:

1.Organic Tibetan goji berries (Lycium Barbarum) and Codonopsis pilosula (a variety of ginseng) green tea - a healthy super antioxidant that doubles as a tonic and improves blood circulation
2. Kaffir lime green tea - a citrusy after meal refreshment, hot or cold.
3. Pandan and Keemun blend - a luxurious, fragrant blend with the slightest hint of smokiness that's perfect for anytime
4. Coconut & cinnamon Ceylon - a very smooth, slighly spicy and rich flavour balanced with full-bodied black ceylon

I dehydrate the herbs and spices at home, so there will be more flavours once my other ingredients are ready for blending.

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Origami Lotus Ring on: April 11, 2009 08:47:01 AM

I made some origami out of pages from my parents' old novels. I really like this ring, something about the browned paper and the Chinese printing inspired me to make this Smiley The paper is sealed with layers of varnish for durability.
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Polymer Carnation on: March 31, 2009 09:01:27 PM

This is a mini carnation commissioned by a lady who wants it for her miscarried child's urn. The whole stalk measures 4" long and the flower is under 1" in diameter. I sculpted the whole thing with white Fimo over a wire. The flower was easy, but the stem almost killed me. While it looks simple, it was really hard to make the stem and leaves sturdy without them looking too bulky. It still looks bulky now but that's the best I can do Sad I also added dollops of liquid crystal for dew drops , you can't see them in the pictures but they are there. I hope Vikki likes it.
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / UPDATED 19/3 Manly Mini Origami Samurai Helmet Bottle Charms on: March 14, 2009 11:01:57 PM
This one says "samurai" in kanji.

I finally made something for men! These samurai helmets (Kabuto) symbolize courage, power and protection.

This is sitting on my finger, folded from one 12mm square.

I handwritten the word "courage" in Kanji.

And as usual, something very girlish...
