1  Scrappy Bustle for Medieval Faire in Costumes: Completed Projects by aglanceatmyworld on: April 19, 2012 06:17:18 PM
I was inspired by the ladies from Damsel in this Dress to make my own DIY version of their awesome scrappy bustles!  I made my bustle using upholstery samples and scraps I was given last year.  I love how my bustle turned out and got tons of compliments on it when I wore it to the Medieval Faire Smiley

The rest of my costume...all DIYed!

I made a video tutorial for the bustle- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYrpWvOCIVg

Here's a video I made with footage of the Medieval Faire in Norman that we went to!  It's so much fun and me and the hubby go in costume every year Smiley

I've been wanting to try making a no-sew tutu but didn't want to start with a full sized one...so I made one for my dog!  It was so easy to make and I can't wait to get some pretty tulle and make one for me now!

I also made a tutorial for the tutu and posted it to my youtube channel.

I have a habit of buying only one brand of jeans...which is great for know what size I need.  But really bad when you look at my closet and all my jeans are identical.  So I came up with a solution and added some fancy stitching to set my jeans apart from the rest

Before-

After-

As always, I made a video tutorial along the way Smiley

4  Upcycled Beaded Ornaments in Winter Holidays by aglanceatmyworld on: October 26, 2010 06:51:45 PM
I saw some really cute beaded ornaments at a store but didn't want to pay the high price for them.  So I went to a discount jewelry store and picked up a couple of beaded necklaces and made my own ornaments...and I love them!  I've made seven sets so far (only have pictures of two right now)!  I'm in love with making these ornaments and I love that they are made out of re-purposed beads Smiley

Let me know what you think of them Smiley

5  Tank Top Recon with Overall Fastener! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by aglanceatmyworld on: October 26, 2010 06:40:03 PM
I saw a girl wearing a tank top on Top Model several seasons ago that had a suspender fastener on one side.  It was really cute and I finally got around to making it myself.  I used a tank I had lying around and now I have a new cute piece Smiley

I filmed me doing the recon and made a quick video tutorial.  I post a new tutorial every week on my youTube if you want to check it out Smiley

6  New Curtains From a Sheet! (with Tutorial Link) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by aglanceatmyworld on: October 12, 2010 02:59:31 PM
I used a blue sheet I picked up at a thrift store to make curtains for the spare room in our new apartment!  I had never made curtains before so it was a lot of fun Smiley  (Oh and the rod was picked up at a garage sale for only $3!)  After I made the one in the pic I found a red satin sheet at a different thrift store that I'm going to use to make a curtain for our bedroom because the color matches our bedspread perfectly!

I made a video tutorial as always Smiley

7  Fun Beaded Things :) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by aglanceatmyworld on: October 08, 2010 04:26:45 PM
These aren't jewelry, but this is the section in the forum my post seemed to fit best...

These are stickpins, charms, and flowers I'm made.  They are for using on mini albums and other projects like that.  I used some vintage beads and buttons along with pins left from my wedding.

I have a video that shows more of the sets I've made.

9  Handmade Laundry Soap (With Tutorial Link) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by aglanceatmyworld on: October 02, 2010 08:42:53 AM
I hope I'm posting this in the right section...

I've been making my own laundry soap for about a year and a half.  At first I was making liquid soap just because I've always used liquid store bought soap.  But now I make powdered soap and it is much quicker to make!  Here's a picture of what it looks like and the video tutorial in the link below Smiley  Let me know what you think.

10  New Coasters for My New Home! (With Tutorial Link) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by aglanceatmyworld on: October 01, 2010 04:47:30 PM
My husband and I just moved into our first apartment and the first thing I've made for our new place is coasters!  I know that may sound a little lame, but it was fun Smiley  Also I'm trying out using a lace curtain for my new backdrop...what do you think?  (I know the photo is off-centered, it's because it's also the title segment in my video with text).

I also made a video tutorial for how to make the coasters... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K7Kgt6N7BI
