61  Re: Newbies Only Swap Round 9 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DeannaLynn06 on: May 27, 2008 10:14:18 AM
So I finally got my stuff today after the long weekend. Boy was I excited. I got so much cool stuff from Solipsist!

Everything from the box (still wrapped)

Everything unwrapped. Look at all that good stuff! I got some Marshmallow Fluff (only sold on the East Coast), a Boston Cookie, a Candy bar and a Boston Red Sox Pez Dispenser. I also got a notepad, a cherry appliqu, and some eyelet fabric, so I can make a skirt that is on my wist! Now for the rest of the stuff!

A tin to remind me of the outdoors, filled with very cute buttons. And a bracelet she made. I love it, it is just the right colors.

A bookmark for my soon to be reading garden!

A super cute pincushion that will be oh so useful! (I tend to leave pins just lying around on my desk)

A button bag with my initial. I love this, now I can take all my stuff in one bag to work, rather then 3-4!

An last but not least my personal favorite, a recon picture frame. It is already placed in my sewing room. I really like the colors.

Thank you so much Solipsist, everything is awesome. I can't wait to do another swap!

62  Formal with no place to wear it! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by DeannaLynn06 on: May 04, 2008 06:26:50 PM
So I bought a ton of satin like fabric 2 and 1/2 years ago to practice making a formal dress for my 1st wedding anniversary, well I never got around to making any of the dresses in time or at all for that matter. So I pulled it all out last month and decided I was going to make them even if I didn't have a place to wear them. I love the fabric so much and the patterns are so easy why not, right? Well here is one of them ( I still haven't made the rest of them, not sure if I want to right now)

When I get around to using the rest of the fabric up I will definitely add them!  Let me know what you think.

63  New Infinity Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by DeannaLynn06 on: April 20, 2008 10:09:42 PM
I have been working hard to master the Infinity dress. I found a link somewhere here, can't find it now, that led me to a maternity version and I fell in love. I made this for my non maternity body, it still works great.
Also here are the pics for all the different ways to wear it.

I had fun making this one, i am thinking about making a lot more in many different colors.
Let me know what you think.

64  Retro Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by DeannaLynn06 on: April 16, 2008 09:40:40 PM
So I have been lurking here for awhile and thought I would post some of my pride and joys. I was scouring the local thrift store and saw this fabric and immediately thought retro (60s) dress. I thought of the perfect pattern (Built by Wendy, Simplicity 3835). I didnt do too badly, I struggled with the collar, I am famous for not taking my time and rushing through things. I ripped the collar out and tried again and it was fine. I absolutely love the dress, I wish that I could wear it to work, but it is just a little too short for an elementary school.

Please let me know what you think, I love to hear comments on my projects.
