141  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Candy Necklace on: January 17, 2014 08:27:58 AM
I claimed kittykill for a beaded necklace inspired by this one on her Pinterest http://www.pinterest.com/pin/186336503306765245/
I studied it for a bit and decided I could for sure make it!  I asked about color preferences and ordered some beads in candy colors.  I suppose I should have looked at it again before making it since mine turned out a bit differently...
I have no idea why I though it was a double strand necklace... Would have saved me some frustration if I had only made it one strand!
Oh well I am VERY pleased with how it turned out and want to make another for myself.

I get nervous about breakage when I make beaded necklaces.  I used clamshells at the end of beading line and some glue at the knots.  To attach the ribbons I used little clamp things and I made sure to tug the ribbons to make sure they weren't loose.  Hopefully it holds up well!
142  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Valentines Shrine on: January 16, 2014 08:29:45 AM
I am doing a Valentine Fairy shrine swap at Retro Cafe Art Gallery and here is one of my fairies.  I pulled out my papers, inks, Sharpie Paint Pen, and random ephemera for this one.  The wooden beads I used for the feet are a bit off so I am going to have to redo those so it will stand up on it's own.

143  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / DINO-MITE & Robots on: January 16, 2014 08:25:16 AM
I made these two stenciled tee's for Underthemountain in the Ongoing Wish Swap.  I cut the Dino-Mite stencil out using my Silhouette Cameo and freezer paper.

The robot was cut by hand into freezer paper

I used Tulip Soft fabric paint on both.

145  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Snowflake Bunting on: January 07, 2014 02:05:48 PM
I made this bunting for my partner in the Mini 12 Days of Christmas Swap.  I found the designs online using a Google search for snowflakes.  I chose three designs I liked and traced them onto Sulky Water Soluble Stabilizer.  I then cut out each flag using wool felt.  I hooped the stabilizer over the felt in a hoop then stitched each flag up.  Once they were all stitched I hot glued a ribbon to the back so it could be hung up.

146  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Box of Color Swap on: January 06, 2014 08:05:09 AM

My rainbow hooplas!

There was a lot of interest in the Box of Sunshine Swap started by LimeRiot but not everyone felt that their "happy" color was yellow or orange, me included.  I talked with LimeRiot (don't want to step on any toes) and she gave me the okay to see if everyone who has a different happy color would want to do a Box of Color swap.  It would be similar to the Box of Sunshine swap but instead of there being a limit to what colors we can choose from we can use the whole rainbow!

Essentially, you will tell your partner your favorite color or favorite color combo and you will receive a package based on those colors.  I am thinking of one medium and two smalls.  Any extra's can be determined between partners.

What do you think??
147  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas Shadowbox on: December 26, 2013 11:07:44 AM
I made a Christmas themed shrine for my partner in the 12 Days of Christmas swap.  I was so happy with the Halloween one that I wanted to tackle Christmas.  I spray painted the boxes and outside gold and then used different papers for the inside of each cubby

The shadowbox has a plastic cover that goes on the front with a lid, here it is with the lid on....

The back of the box has this great piece of scrapbook paper along with a dresden Santa

A close up of each section

Sorry for the dark photos, we actually had some rain in Phoenix on the day I was wrapping everything up!

149  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Frosty Magnets on: December 18, 2013 08:38:54 AM

I made these snowmen magnets for my co-workers this year.  I got the kits from Retro Cafe Art Gallery which came with the magnet, snowman figure, blank paper body, hat, scarf, and nose.  Then I embellished with wintery words, glitter, ink, etc.  I can't wait to put these in each little gift basket I am putting together and hope they are well received.
150  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Oh Deer! on: December 18, 2013 08:30:17 AM
I made this lovely cheery deery for the Craftster Needlework Challenge.  It was my first ever challenge and I had fun playing!  I didn't get too creative with the original pattern (meaning not creative at all) but just stitched it up.  I was quite happy with how it turned out and actually even won second place in the challenge.
