141  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Felt & Fabric Earrings on: August 13, 2010 10:04:04 AM

I made these earrings in the OWS 60 swap for a partner.  They were inspired by a pair on her wist.  They were super easy to make and are a great way to use up felt and fabric scraps.
142  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Handmade Baby Gifts on: July 26, 2010 10:12:58 AM
My friend is expecting her second baby in a few weeks.  I decided to make her gifts rather than purchase them.
I made two hats

a bib out of a dishtowel and bandana

a stack of burp rags

I have since heard that I didn't use the best material for them.  Next time I will use cloth diapers.

and my first ever crocheted blanket

She seemed to like them and even said she will be bringing the baby home in the blanket I made!
143  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Egg Rolls! on: July 19, 2010 03:29:27 PM

Mmmm egg rolls. I love egg rolls. It's one of my favorite parts of getting chinese takeout. I had never considered making them at home until I met the boy. He made them for me and I am now and forever ruined on all other egg rolls. I won't even eat more than a bite of one that I get from a resturaunt now. The boy makes THE BEST egg rolls ever. I have friends who beg us to make the egg rolls.
The boy always makes the meat. There are no specific measurements for any of the ingredients. Ground pork, fresh ginger, minced garlic, and onion. Fry it all up and toss with a bag or two of coleslaw mix. We like to use the broccoli mix.

You will also need egg roll wrappers. I like the ones the sell at Sprouts.
(These are not them and I complained the whole time)

To seal them you need a mix of flour and water "glue".

Lay your wrapper out, put in some of the meat mixture, use your glue around the edges.

You kind of make like a little envelope looking thing to start.

Then you roll it up tight

Wrapping all the egg rolls it messy and time consuming. If you live where it's warm do not stack the egg rolls on top of each other or they will stick together and the wrappers will tear.

My job is to wrap and the boy frys them up. I am sure you can bake them but I am not sure how to do that. We are unhealthy Smiley

146  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crafty Godmother Altered book on: May 28, 2010 05:41:24 PM
I made this for my partner in the Random swap.  It was inspired by this book by Phizzychick http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=298181.0 which was on my partners wists.  I didn't want to copy Phizzy's book so I made mine with crafty Godmothers.
The front cover (sorry it was breezy and the ribbons were flying!)

The pages:
Godmother of inspiration

Godmother of sequins, seed beads, and glitter

Godmother of Lost Needles

Godmother of measure twice, cut once

Godmother of Thimbles

Godmother of Bobbins and Thread

Finally the Godmother of Craftiness

This was my first altered book and I really love how it turned out.  Its been a really long time since I have done any major papercrafting.  I hope you enjoy!
147  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Felt Applique Sign on: May 05, 2010 10:30:13 AM
I made this Under the Sea sign for Bablina58 in the Ongoing Wish Swap.  It is all hand sewn.  It took me a few evenings of work since I used separate felt sheets and had to cut use stencils for all the pieces.  Overall I am happy with how it turned out.

148  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Resin pendants Pic heavy on: May 05, 2010 10:26:02 AM
I love to work with resin but hate to waste it as it's kinda pricey (I think anyway) so I made some stuff for a swap and had some resin left over.  I threw in some glitter and had enough to make these two pendants.  The smaller one is done in my pendant mold and the larger one was poured into a silicone cupcake mold that I never use.  Using the silicone mold was fabulous!  I am now going to be on the lookout for more of them to use with resin

I have been wanting to play with pendant trays and resin for a while and I finally broke down and bought some trays from Etsy.  They are 1X1 which was perfect since I have a 1X1 punch and I had purchased a bunch of 1X1 images from Etsy a while ago.  These are the pendants I made up.

I also made these two button pendants.  I think I will end up doing a giveaway on my blog for them eventually.  What do you think???

149  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First Airbrushed shirt on: April 16, 2010 10:12:13 AM
I made this shirt for someone in the OWS swap.  I am not sure who the character is but I think it from a sci fi show.  I thought I had covered the shirt well before I sprayed but didn't had lots of overspray. Since I didn't want to cut the whole stencil out again I decided to cut the design out from the brown shirt and sewed it onto a black shirt.  I love the way it turned out much better than the orginal was supposed to!
150  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / The Dog on: April 13, 2010 09:24:53 AM
I made this for someone in the OWS.  It was based off a stenciled T-shirt on her wist

I also made this one for her using the same dog outline
