411  Re: Hoopla A-Long in Needlework: Stitchalongs by lindyv321 on: July 13, 2013 08:16:59 AM
I made this hoop to honor my mom who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.  Gray is the color of the brain cancer awareness ribbon and hope really sums up what my family and I are feeling.                I was working on another hoop but I just didn't like how it was turning out and gave it up.

I finished my June hoop!  I chose to do a sea turtle as my summer theme.  I am glad I finally got it done!

This swap is a mini 13 days of Halloween swap. Instead of opening all your presents at once like in other swaps, we count down the days to halloween. you will open day 13 on October the 1st, day 12 on October the 2nd and so on until 10/13.
We will begin to open gifts on 10/1 through 10/13

Some things to think about:

* I STRONGLY recommend that you have a wist or pinterest for this swap, as it helps out your partner greatly. Please keep this updated and have at least 20 items on it. If you do not have a wist or pinterest, please have another way to show items to your partner that you like (etsy favorites, flickr, etc...)

*If you are sending BAKED GOODS, please only send them if you live in the same country as your partner. We do not need to tempt customs people to keep your package after you have worked so hard on it! Also, if you are sending baked goods you should make this the package that is opened on day 1!

*I highly recommend that you wrap your items in a plastic bag/trash bag/ or some other protective wrapping INSIDE the box you are sending. Things can get wet from rain and/or snow OR things can melt in hot temperatures.

414  Re: Disney Swap Round 11 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lindyv321 on: June 25, 2013 08:43:21 AM
Jack is fabulous and I am loving that Up hoop!

Time for me to share my goodies from PFD.  I apologize for the on my bed pictures but there were some things in there that are intended for our upcoming surprise trip to DL.

PFD made me the cutest box that I can use to store all kinds of keepsakes from our trip like maps, buttons, etc. It is based on something I have pinned and it's perfect!

and a front view

Inside I found all this!

Two altered M&M tubes that I will put quarters and shiny pennies in so the kids can make all kinds of pressed pennies while we are at the parks

Two awesome bows, one for me and one for my daughter

This bookmark based off the tightrope walker from The Haunted Mansion that I actually was going to make PFD.  Hmmm wonder where the print off I did of this went....

A really cool Tiki Room sculpture that is actually a little box.  I love The Tiki Room although the song gets stuck in my head for the whole day after going in there!

A shirt I wanted to wear in the parks!  A very merry unbirthday to you!

This awesome frame made from a Disneyland park map.  I can't wait to take a family photo to put in there!

And some awesome extras!  A Mickey Postcard, Monsters Inc. Band-Aids, sticker books for the kids, and a WDW map which I don't think made it into the picture.

Thank you so much PFD!  You fulfilled so many of my Disney wishes!  I can't wait for our trip, you definitely helped make it more special for us!

415  Hanging Shrine in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by lindyv321 on: June 24, 2013 01:15:34 PM
This was an extra shrine that I made for my partner MaxParadise in the shrine swap.  One of her listed themes was love/romance.  I had this hanging shrine kit from Retro Cafe Art Gallery that I was dying to use so I ordered a few more supplies and here is what I came up with.

416  Dia De Los Muertos Shrines in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by lindyv321 on: June 24, 2013 01:13:08 PM
I made these shrines for MaxParadise in the Shrine Swap. I chose her theme of Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead.  I used shrine kits and supplies from Alpha Stamps and Retro Cafe' Art Gallery along with some things pulled from my stash.

Here is the front and back of the main shrine.  If you look closely at the front you can see the brass pistol and mini bottles that I added.

Here are the two mini shrines I made to go along with it.

I received from kbrison yesterday and I got super spoiled!  Sorry a few of the pictures are yucky.  Not sure what is up with my camera right now....

First up she made me this fabulous tote!  I had pinned one she made in a different swap and am so happy to have one of my own!  In fact it is going to be my new going to work tote.

Then this gorgeous purple butterfly artwork!  I already hung it in my craft room

A tissue holder made from a turtle batik fabric along with a new turtle friend for me

These awesome coasters which are being used in the kitchen as we speak!  I always have four coasters on the counter for everyone to put their cups.  That way the kids use the same cup all day rather than 10!

These awesome rooster notecards!  I love these and think I must frame one to go up in my kitchen which is rooster themed.

Last but not least is my very own crocheted dish cloth!  (Sorry for the blurry pic) and a wooden L for me to alter!

Thank you so much kbrison!

Such great additions to the gallery!  I love the comet shrine and those owls with the real wood pieces are fabulous!

I received from MaxParadise and have a hard time believing these were her first shrines...She chose my Dia De Los Muertos theme and Nature theme and also added in one that we both had pinned!

I could not get a good picture of this one for some reason.  If you have a better one please share!

I love this one with the sugar skull and all the other poly clay items!

Here is the nature shrine.  It appears to be made out of a matchbox.  Here is the front:

And when you open it up:

And as if that wasn't enough she also made this awesomely cute kitty cupcake shrine!

Thank you so much MaxParadise!  I love them all and they are currently being displayed on my shrine shelf.  Sorry for the crap pictures.  Not sure what is up with my camera Sad

420  Re: Shrine Swap - Sign ups CLOSED Send by 06/21/13 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by lindyv321 on: June 10, 2013 10:49:13 AM
Thanks everyone for checking in!  I was planning on crafting yesterday since the shrine kits I ordered arrived but after Saturday I needed to relax!  Saturday was my honey's b-day and our neighbors bday.  We had a joint party that included a HUGE inflatable waterslide that goes into the pool.

Needless to say climbing up that slide over and over makes older out of shape girls like myself rather sore the next day!  In fact yesterday everyone was showing off their various "war wounds" from the slide.  They included a broken nose, broken toe, numerous cuts, scrapes, and bruises LOL!
