403  Skully Jewelry in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lindyv321 on: April 28, 2014 09:51:41 AM
I made some jewelry for my partner in the Skull Swap.  For the bracelet I used memory wire, some beads that reminded me of bone, tiny red hearts, a flower button, and a clay skull.  Red and turquoise is on of my favorite color combos so I just love how this turned out!

I also had these wooden tiles with holes punched in them that I wanted to play with.  Luckily I had some Dia De Los Muertos stickers that fit on the tiles perfectly!  I stuck the stickers on the tiles, trimmed any overhang, then sealed them with Mod Podge before covering them with Diamond Glaze.  The first one I sent to my partner and the second one I kept for myself.

404  Skull Girl Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by lindyv321 on: April 28, 2014 09:47:25 AM
I wanted to stitch something up for my partner in the Skull Swap, I had a regular old skull pattern I was going to use but then I found this one.  I purchased it from Urban Threads ages ago and never did anything with it.  Since I know my partner also likes Dia De Los Muertos I decided to stitch it up.  I used a back stitch for everything except for around the eyes and her nose which are done in satin stitching.

The Moogle is too cute!

The package I sent out in the Skull swap was received so I can post what I made.

The first is this altered cubby thing with four drawers

Inside the drawers I hid a pendant, a bracelet, and a mini shrine

Finally I stitched up this hoop

I have two kids.

Adia is 13 and a lover of all animals.  If she had her way we would have 10 cats and 10 dogs!  She is very artistic and likes to sing.  Although she is too shy to sing in front of other people!  She is actually pretty shy about everything.  Landon is 9 and is all boy.  He loves Lego's, superhero's, and Minecraft.  He is my outgoing kid.  He will show off his dance moves to anyone that will watch.  They have a love hate relationship with each other and drive me crazy with their almost constant bickering!  They are very much opposites of each other in almost everything but I know deep down they love each other and miss the other when they aren't around.

As for pets we have 3 dogs and 3 cats.  Sarge is a chi/min pin mix, Baxter is a min pin, and Minnie is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Minnie reminds me a bit of the Vizsla as she is hunting hound.  Although the only thing she hunts around our house is crumbs.  That dog would eat all day if she could.  Our cats are Cocoa and Cookie who are sisters and were rescue cats.  They pretty much stay on one side of the house cause they don't like the dogs.  Then we have Cupcake who was abandoned by renters in my parent's rental house.

I am very happy with the progress I have made with this swap.  Still have lots to do before send outs though!

409  Regal Seahorse in Needlework: Completed Projects by lindyv321 on: April 21, 2014 10:07:32 AM
This is my Under the Sea themed hoop for the April hoopla along.  I got the pattern on Etsy

I used a back stitch, a chain stitch, and a few french knots to complete the project.  I LOVE the look of the chain stitch but am not as impressed with the back stitch on the sea shells...  The chain stitch is so easy if you use the cheater method that I think I will try to incorporate it into more pieces...

Tons of great stuff has been posted in the last few days!  I love all the bracelets, bouquets, pendants, and pouches.

I finished up my April hoop for the monthly hoopla along.  This months theme was Under the Sea so I stitched up this very regal seahorse.

I also made this memory wire wrap bracelet for myself

Finally I made this skull pendant for myself.  I used wooden pendant, some stickers that fit perfectly, and Diamond Glaze
